Versa tracks high heart rate readings

Today, I sync'd my Versa without really paying attention. I got a congrats on my daily activity and when I looked at it, I had a current HR of 169 (never gets that high) and had been in cardio zone for over an hour. I had just gotten out of bed. I sat down and checked my HR and it was 70 but reading 145 at that point. I restarted but it is still reading too high. Anyone else have this issue? Thoughts or advice appreciated. BTW, the HR is usually spot on until today. I do not swim in it or shower in it. I clean it often especially after a sweaty workout.
