Versa tracks inaccurate heart rate and steps data

A few days ago the heart rate monitor went absolutely bonkers, consistently saying my HR was above 140, ended up turning it off. Now when I went to open the app I had over 8500 steps for the day & 52 active minutes. It now shows just under 2500 steps & only 5 minutes of active minutes. I did not manually log my workout. I have restarted my watch multiple times, restarted the app, made sure it was up to date & logged out & back in. Nothing has worked & I am incredibly frustrated.

I would not be as frustrated about this if this wasn’t the last week in a Step Bet, but this is absolutely ridiculous.

Hi @Wemily91, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Versa is not tracking accurate heart rate and steps data. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
  • Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
  • Hold the button again until they feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates they initiated the factory reset.

After this, set up your watch from scratch.

As a side note, I'd like to share this help page, which explains how your Fitbit device tracks active minutes.

Finally, monitor your Versa during the next 24 hours and see if it provides accurate heart rate and steps information.

Keep me posted on the outcome.
