Versa while driving

Hello everyone.

I own my versa since last week and I like it.

The thing I don’t like is that I need to enter a log while I’m driving in order to

subtract steps, calories and floors.

Is hard to edit because is a glitch always asking me for “enter a valid number” that’s is annoying. I’m really disappoint about that.

I don’t really understand why this piece of tech is this bad at this.

Why an app like Pokémon go can detect when you are driving or not?. Why is this expensive “smart” watch is lacking that critical detail?

WHY?

Now, before I start driving I need to sync my app with my versa and turn off the watch. Something is annoying as well because I need to go to settings, about and scroll all the way down to turn my versa off.

is just Lame.

@Aboy6 Well, if the roads are bumpy, or you're driving a truck etc... It is a wrist tracker and your hands keep moving. That's not the same for phone or regular pedometers. Nevertheless, you can try making your Versa less sensitive by changing the Wrist Placement Setting in your Fitbit mobile app to Dominant.

I drive an 18 wheeler. Today I drove for 8 hrs and my versa logged 32000 steps while I held the steering wheel. This is unacceptable. I owned a Fitbit charge 2 prior to the versa, and didn’t have this problem. I am very disappointed and the solution given by Fitbit support doesn’t work. Guess I wasted $200. If Apple had a community, I wouldn’t waste my time with Fitbit. Very non caring attitude by the tech I spoke with today.

Exactly my point. It doesn’t matter if this is a wrist counter or not. If the device use my phone as a GPS can diference if I drive or not. I will presume the 100% of the people that use it Fitbit while driving has their cellphone with them. This need to be fix soon.

@Idriveatruck- My husband had the same issue.  I've found an app called DriveBit that you may find helpful.  I agree though that Fitbit should address the issues at hand.  Hope this helps!

@Aboy6 Actually no. Your device has no built-in GPS. It uses so called connected GPS ONLY when you start certain workouts manually on the tracker (e.g. running, hike etc). So, no there is no way for it to figure out you're driving by using connected GPS. I drive SUV. My Versa's wrist placement is set to dominant though I'm wearing it on my left wrist. I have never had issues with ghost steps.

@Marrrmaduke I do understand that the versa lack GPS. I will set up the versa in dominat mode. But, about the ghost steps.

I drive a Nissan Versa (lol) and the roads are fairly good. The stuff that make me wonder is that today I give my fitbit versa to my wife and she has it on her hand and still counting steps.

I will post something if the dominat set up works or not.

@Aboy6 You can also give it several reboots in a row by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until fitbit logo flashes.
