Versa will not turn on

I don't know if I updated via bluetooth or wifi, but I updated to .30 (the latest before was pulled)
The fitbit would not connect to bluetooth (either phone, laptop or PC)
I tried disconnecting, forgetting, resetting both the versa and devices, made sure was only 1 bluetooth device available etc.
So decided to "factory reset"  via the options menu in the about section on the versa.
The screen turned off and has not since turned on I have tried both holding left and bottom right buttons to reset and the three button combo to factory reset, nothing seems to work.

any ideas anyone?

I'll contact support after x-mas and I'm sure they'll want me to upload another video to youtube which they conveniantly wont be able to access...

@nanoymaster Try 3-button factory reset:

  1. Press and hold all 3 buttons until Fitbit logo flashes (this may take up to 3 minutes)
  2. After Fitbit logo disappears, release the bottom right button
  3. Wait until you feel strong vibration and release the other buttons.

You may need to attempt the reset a few times to find the optimal times. Trying holding the buttons longer, as long as it's needed for the vibration to appear.

So I figured I'd give you all an update.

Fitbit recognized the issue and sent me a replacement versa.
This came today.

Using my phone and i's bluetooth I set up a watch face and my credit card. purposely avoided applying the new update.
I then connected it to my laptop to install music to it, left it downstairs doing it's thing.
I check back a few hours later and **ahem**.. it's applied .30 update!

Check it with my phone, nope won't sync... stuck "looking for tracker"
Phone fitbit tech support. after ages of "diagnosing" the issue all I get is my phone isn't supported.
Sony z5 compact.
The older z3 compact and newer models are supported... just this one isn't!

Apparently it's needs a specific version of bluethooth (he wouldn't/couldn't tell me which)

So thats that, they can't help and the fitbit only syncs with the laptop (which I'm guessing will only work until I restart the laptop or it's bluetooth)

apparently theres no way to remove the update or roll back (not even factory reset)
Not impressed fitbit!

From online chat:

- after unistalling the app, removing versa from bluetooth devices, rebooting the phone, rebooting the versa, reinstalling the app, which still can't see the versa... AGAIN! -
Me : I want to do contactless payments with it, it needs to connect to my phone, not my laptop
Me : which it did before the update
Flor : I see, this may be why the phone is not in the compatible device for syncing since it may not support all updates that the Fitbit will receive.
Me : so what specifically do I need the phone to have?
Flor : As per the app specialists the phone's minimum is Android 5 or higher. Compatibility also depends on Bluetooth configuration, phone's hardware, software, etc this is why our specialist routinely tests devices with all type of phones.
Flor : If the phone meets the minimum requirement it may be able to sync but we cannot guarantee that it will sync all the time.
Me : so my phone meets the requirements, it worked before the update.. but because fitbit decided to push an update I can no longer use it with my phone or roll back to a working version?
Flor : I am sorry for the inconvenience and we suggest to sync with a mobile device listed as a compatible device to avoid issues with the compatibility.
Flor : Compatibility also depends on the phone's software and Bluetooth configuration this is why we cannot guarantee that the Fitbit will sync all the time.
Me : is there or will there be a way to roll back to a working version?
Flor : At the moment there is no way to roll back a firmware and we do not know if there will be a way in the future. Updates are released by the specialists to improve the Fitbits.
Me : it hasn't improved mine!
Flor : The Fitbit itself improved since the phone is not listed as a compatible device we cannot guarantee that it will work as expected with our devices.

Moral of the story even if your phones meets the minimum specs, if it's not on the compatible list they will fob you off.
