Hi I have one of the Versa originals that has the swim and music on it. Was minded like a baby. No scrapes or signs wear and tear on the watch. It just started flickering 2 weeks ago and died. Got it back up and running last week so thought it may have been the charger. Bought a new charger. Looking it it now, the watch is functioning but not charging. Remains on 0%. Looking at the watch while it’s charging and I can see a the light between the face and the body of the watch, obviously an issue with the manufacture. Buying this watch there would be a reasonable expectation that the battery would last or could be replaced. I have all the straps for this watch and obviously don’t want to change. To buy the same one again it costs £196 on amazon. I am out of warranty and very aggrieved at the lack of Fitbit aftersales support. It only needs a new battery and to be sealed. Any advice?

Same happened. Battery life just dwindled to one day per charge. And just after 3 years of use, it gave up completely and refused to be charged.

Hi marie
have tried all the troubleshooting and the issue is that the battery is dead and not charging. I can use my Fitbit as long as it’s plugged into the wall. However, the battery is overheating so won’t do that in case it goes on fire.
the issue is solely the battery. Like any of the other watches I have purchased in the past, I had a reasonable expectation that if the battery went or if I had any issues, that I would be able to get somebody to replace the battery or fix the problem.
Thos is a big issue with Fitbit as there is no aftersales support to assist with watches outside the warranty. Surely there should be agents in different countries who could fix the watches. All I need is a new battery.
This is my second Fitbit and I most certainly will not buy another Fitbit if I cannot get this one fixed. I don’t need a new watch, I just need a battery for this one.

Hi @Yettie - unfortunately it's not the battery, if it gets hot when charging, there is a fault internally, possibly because it got water in it. Don't charge it if it gets hot, as that is dangerous.
If it's still under warranty, 1 to 2 years depending on country law, the quickest way to resolve it is to take it back where you bought it for replacement.
