Versa won't charge or turn on

Hi,

 

My  versa device had been inactive for around 4 months, due to which it ran out of charge and turned off. I recently got it out and put it to charge. the device initially flashed 0% sign on the screen. After charging it for an hour, the Fitbit logo showed up. But then it just stayed that way. The device did not charge, neither it would turn on. 

After keeping it on charge for some more time I tried turning it on, but to no avail. I even did a hard reset but it just went off and I had to keep it on charge one more time

Once again the screen with the logo showed up but nothing happened after that. On trying to press the back button and down button the screen just goes dark and does not respond.

Please help.
