Hi, @Louwallis , you need to make sure that the GPS is connected before you set out. Are you checking that it actually connects?  Sometimes it does take a few minutes, which I know can be frustrating if you are ready to go.

Hi, @Louwallis I have had that problem... You might try turning cellular data OFF on your phone and seeing if it will connect via wifi (but if that works, once it does connect, then turn off wifi (and turn on data), because otherwise it will disconnect once you are out of wifi range...

Alternatively, if you can abandon connected GPS and use Fitbit mobile run.  With mobile run, everything is pretty much the same, but it is captured by your app, not your Fotbit device, and in my experience works more reliably.  In this case the main difference is that you start the activity on your app rather than your Fitbit.  It does mean that you will not get up to date stats on your wrist while you are running.

This is not a deal breaker for me, as I am always too exhausted to care while I am running... But you may feel differently.

Someone else may have better advice if getting Connected GPS is important to you.

I hope this helps!

The odd thing is that until about a month ago, this wasn't an issue. I'd select Exercise >Run on my Versa and it would connect within seconds. Now it never connects, so I have to track my run from the app. I'm concerned Fitbit is deprecating functionality to force me to upgrade to the Versa 2.

Hello @erd_atx and a warm welcome.  You don't say what type of phone you are using.  I am an iPhone user.  Recently, I noticed that my GPS will not connect unless I have the Location Services set to Always for the Fitbit app.  The GPS wouldn't connect if if I had the app open with the Location Services set to While Using the App.
