Versa won't connect to my new iPhone 12

Hi,

I recently replaced my phone from an iPhone 7 to a 12 and can't seem to get the Versa to connect so that I can sync.

I've been able to connect it to an iPad mini and the iPhone 7, but not the 12. On the iPad mini, there's a pop-up message comes up while I'm in the app asking if I want to pair the Versa with the device and I click "pair" and that allows it to show up under my Bluetooth settings. On the iPhone 12, it instead says that the Versa and iPhone need to be paired when I click into the device settings on the app and when I click on "set up" (not pair), there is a progress wheel that spins where the arrow is on the notification button, and nothing happens.

I've restarted the phone, reinstalled the app and restarted the device multiple times. Not sure what else to try!

Hi there, @mrb370. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa before reaching out.

It seems that your watch cannot properly connect to your new iPhone 12 since you haven't yet forgotten the connection between your watch and the iPhone 7's Bluetooth which would explain the connectivity issues you're running into. With that said, try the steps below:

  • Unpair your Versa from your iPhone 7's Bluetooth and also from the new iPhone 12.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your new phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa.

Hope that helps.
