When installing you must only have one FitBit Bluetooth/Wi-Fi device enabled and connected to your tracker or it will cause conflicts.
That one device being the phone you will use to setup you new FitBit.
Turn any & everything else off in your home that is Bluetooth of Wi-Fi enabled 'but your phone' to reduce risk of conflicts & a failed install.
According to FitBit chat: You too cannot setup a new device using the FitBit dongle via a laptop or a Mac.
The entire install process has to be on your phone either IOS or Android.
Your FitBit tracker will be charging either in its charge cradle or via its USB cable for the entire process.
Wi-Fi must be enabled & visible all devices on your router.
Hope this helps.

I read that I cannot connect my Fitbit to WiFi via a password protected network. Does this mean I cannot use my home WiFi, which is a private network and password protected, to connect my Fitbit to WiFi?
