Versa won't pair to Android phone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

In my troubleshooting being unable to sync my Versa with the app, I unpaired it and now it won't reconnect at all and after just a few seconds the app says that pairing times out.

I've restarted my Versa, restarted my phone, restarted Bluetooth, reinstalled the Fitbit app, etc etc., and even followed the Android 9.0 suggestions even though I'm running 8.0 and my settings say there are no updates available.

Super frustrating!

Did you try holding the Fitbit button down for ten seconds and rebooting the Fitbit Versa?

I had a problem getting the Versa to pair with my Android phone - a CAT S41.

I restarted the phone, deleted & reinstalled the Fitbit app.  No joy.

And then it occurred to me to wonder if perhaps the problem could be solved by rebooting the Fitbit Versa itself, and not the phone.

In the troublshooting section, they say 'restart your device' but they don't really make it clear they are talking about holding the Fitbit Versa main button in for 10 seconds until the Versa reboots itself.

Once did this, all the pairing problems between the Versa & my Android phone, PC & iPad went away.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy 8 with the most updated Android version and just bought the Fitbit Versa today. I have run through all the other troubleshooting steps on this thread, but the Versa will still not connect via Bluetooth. It will pair, but it will not connect. The Versa says no phone connected when I try to connect to any music app.

I am having the same pairing problems. My Versa 2 worked fine for a year, now it won't pair. I have a Samsung g7. I haven't changed anything.

I have reinstalled the fitbit app, turned bluetooth off and on, restarted my phone it still won't pair. My phone can find the versa but the app won't.

Any other suggestions?

I had this problem resetting/ restarting the versa and phone did not work.

I had to go into the fitbit app, remove the versa, and re run the initial setup again to set up a new device.

Hope that helps others

Those steps were my first thought & action...they didn't resolve the issue. Do you have any other troubleshooting steps I could try?

I.am having this same exact problem.

It worked fine until today. Now it will not even pair ti my Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9

It worked for the past month

Today it just stopped.

I have tried all the directions and now I ca not even get my Fitbit to pair with my phone.

It continues to say: unable to pair, check your device settings.

I check my settings and there is nothing to check or change..

Help! I got this less than 1 month ago and it already isn't working.

Where can I call?

I want to talk to someone.

I've been going through the same problem. For me it seems to be associated with the Samsung earbuds. When they are attached my phone will not update to the app. As soon as I put them back in their case and they disconnect from the phone it will update the app data from the Versa 2 watch.

Even with the buds attached I can link to the GPS and get messages, it just won't update any of the daily info.

It's very annoying and unfortunately it's got me about 75% of the way toward dropping fitbit all together and just getting the Samsung watch 😞

My phone and versa 2 will pair but won't  connect via bluetooth. I can see the watch on the list of paired devices but when I select it, nothing happens. I've tried restarting my phone and watch, resetting up my watch, turning bluetooth off and on. Nothing has worked. I have a Galaxy S8.

I have an Samsung Galaxy S9 and a Versa 2 (Amazon exclusive purple and Rose Gold version).

I received this as a Christmas gift.  It has worked fine until this week.  My phone's bluetooth can't even find the fitbit now.  Fitbit doesn't sync in the app (last synced Sun. Jan. 12, 2020 at 10:29pm).  I had the issue of my Blaze not staying connect via bluetooth, so that is why I asked for a new fitbit. Guess it wasn't my blaze.

Yeah. Sad to see it became too much trouble to be constantly trying to work out why it wouldn't sync. I've been pro Fitbit for years so I'm sad to leave. It just seems like their Android solution isn't ready for prime time.

Fortunately I found an app that still syncs my Aria to S Health so I'm not totally gone 🙂

Me too.  FitBit doesn't seem to give a crap.

My versa will not pair to my Google Pixel 3 phone. I reset my Fitbit and when I go to set up a new device on the app it says device found but will not connect. I have done everything suggested, everything.

I have worn my Fitbit everyday but take it off to sleep for a little over a year and for months now it wouldn't connect to app but it still worked for timing (I am a runner) and everything on watch worked. I decided to reset watch to try to get it to connect to phone. Nothing.

I am sooo annoyed. I tried rebooting app, phone, Bluetooth, Versa 2, nothing works! It doesn't even show it as an available device anymore ever since I took it off Bluetooth! I've had it unable to synch a few times for the past month now (I've only had it since Christmas!) and it usually ends up pairing, but this time, absolutely nothing! 😠

It's unfortunate. In the beginning Fitbit was really on it customer service wise, now they don't seem to care. I thought it was just an Android problem but now a friend with the Versa is going through the same issues I had with the iPhone.

Maybe things will turn around with Google at the helm. You'd hope they at least make it work in Android 🙂
