Versa won't respond to anything

Last week my Vera stopped working. The green lights at the back of the Versa are no longer flashing, the red light is on and the screen is completely black. I’ve tried:

 

  • charging the Fitbit over night (to ensure it's 100%) - did nothing
  • tried restarting (by holding the left button) - did nothing
  • tried resetting (by holding left button and bottom-right button) - did nothing, but an occasional vibration.
  • tried holding all buttons - did nothing.

Every time I tried resetting by holding buttons, I tried both holding for the requested amount of time (10-15 seconds), and holding longer periods (up to 1 min). Again, neither did anything but an occasional vibration (screen still black). 

This is a replacement from the original one I purchased, my original one did the same thing!
