Versa won't stay connected to Bluetooth

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It seems my Versa is working as it should functionally however it wont stay connected to Bluetooth long enough to fully sync, update apps, receive notifications, etc... In the fitbit app under my account it will say "looking..." for a while then "connected..." for a second, then "syncing..." for a second then just go back to "looking...". So i went to my iPhone Bluetooth settings and can see that it connects for a second or two then just disappears, then connects and disappears and continues the cycle. Anyone else having this specific problem? Any suggestions to fix it? I've restarted the app, uninstalled it, reinstalled it, turned my bluetooth on and off, restarted my phone, restarted the Versa. Nothing seems to work.

I have been in a conversation with fitbit on twitter since Monday about this issue. I raised it when I noticed gps was dropping its connection.

Not once have they acknowledged ed that there may be a problem even with the very large numbers of people with similar issues.

Hi. I have been in contact with them going on two weeks. A file has been
opened and passed on to customer support. I will say that they have been
extremely courteous. The moderators were quick to blame my problems on the
fact that I am using an "untested" phone (an LG G5). This despite the fact
that the Versa worked much better initially. It has just progressively
gotten worse.

I have recently been using a Nexus 5 which is approved. The results are
even worse. They have had me reset, restart, reinstall just about
everything. I do everything they ask and report back that it does not help
at all. I also have informed them that my Charge 2 works fine with both
phones as recently as yesterday.

My observations are that the issue is with the Bluetooth connectivity. The
Versa will sync in the house but take away the WiFi and it will not
connect.

Today I have been asked to delete my Charge 2 and try the Versa again. That
will happen tomorrow.

The moderators kept suggesting that it was a GPS issue with my G5. This
despite the fact that various tracking apps work just fine. Then it was
buildings and trees. I pointed out that the tracking apps work fine. I also
pointed out that my Gear S3 never loses its GPS signal on exactly the same
routes (all open and clear routes BTW).

The support team seems to be much more reasonable and knowledgeable than
the moderators.

Just my observations.

Actually, the battery will show on the top left corner if you swipe up on
the main screen. I also have the battery showing on the watch face I chose.

Something has happened, either an update to the fitbit app or my settings,
because my versa has stayed connected to my phone for the last 5-6 weeks.
I read the threads in this post and did everything that was suggested and I
had a fitbit update, so I don't know which it was that corrected the
problem.

My fitbit has also stayed connected for the last few weeks too. I had a small update that came from no where maybe this is the solution? Ive not messed with any settings in the last few weeks or so.

I was thinking of seeling the versa before but now it works im quite happy

I changed my clock face and did a restart and I haven't had another issue with the bluetooth.

I just got my Versa after having my blaze for over two years and I am so disappointed. My Versa will not stay connected to my phone at all. Maybe it’s time to get the Apple Watch.

I had maybe 4 other items paired but it was not a problem with my BLAZE.
Only took 30 seconds to pair and connect , same with my new Garmin

I have been facing the same issue.. my Versa won't stay connected to my phone for more than a couple of mins, and this ruins it's ability to stay connected to GPS for my runs..

Enabling the 'Always Connected' feature in the app also doesn't help..

Please suggest..

Fitbit finally agreed to refund my money on the Versa. I sent it back. I couldn't justify having a $300 paper weight.

I have a charge 2. I got it to use gps for hikes. It suddenly was disconnecting from my iphone bluetooth. I would go to my phone bluetooth and connect and it would disconnect within a few minutes. I restarted the fitbit but it did not help. I then realized that I needed to look at settings in the app after the restart. Notifications was off so I turned it on and it asked to pair the fitbit and phone. The connection is now solid. It seems that the fitbit app needs to manage the connection between the fitbit and phone.

I am having the same issue. I'm so disappointed and really sorry I spent so much money on this. I have synced mine with my last Samsung Galaxy 8+, and now it's synced with my note 9, but it only syncs if I manually do it. What is the use of spending so much money on one of these if the technology is garbage? This is my first and last Fitbit product.

Open the Fitbit app. Touch the card in the upper right. Select your device. Scroll down to notifications and open it. If notifications are on turn it off then back on. If it is off turn it on. It will ask if you want to pair. Click pair and wait for it to pair

Yes, send it back for a refund. I had to contact a supervisor from Fitbit through Facebook and they finally agreed to refund me.

This issue is clearly on Fitbit's end. I never had this issue with the Blaze.

Thank you it looks like that’s what I’ll have to do. I had someone go through the steps to reset it but it only worked for a little while then stopped again.
