Versa won't stay connected to my phone's Bluetooth

My Versa loses Bluetooth pairing when I walk away from my phone and does not restore it when I am back in range.  The app will sync the tracker and that Bluetooth pairing is lost, but it still shows not connected in Bluetooth settings, so notifications do not come through until I think to restore it manually.

this has happened on multiple iOS 16 versions.  My phone has been updated and the tracker is updated.  I have rebooted both the tracker and the phone. The store shows no Fitbit app updates available.

It used to be way more stable and reconnect on its own.  Now it never reconnects without manual intervention.  It is getting very annoying since I use it to read texts for work.

Hi there, @PRH1961. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums and trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa before reaching out.

In addition to the steps you've done, please try the following in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Versa from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa.
  • Once your Versa is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

I may have gotten it.  I removed the Versa from Bluetooth and reconnected it.  Then I removed it from the app.  I force closed the app. It took a couple of tries, but I added it back to the app.

It seems to be working for now at least.  We will see how long.
