Versa won't stay connected to phone's Bluetooth

Hi. I've been bought a versa lite for my birthday which I love, but it won't stay connected to Bluetooth for longer than a few seconds. If it does connect and I try to do an update, syn or do anything, the connection drops! I've tried resetting it, re-installing the app etc but nothing helps. 

I'd Really appreciate some advice, thanks.
