Versa won't stay off after shutdown

Hi all with a versa, 

 

Before the latest update, when I selected Settings, About, Shutdown, Yes, the watch stayed off until the morning when I pressed the single button on the left side of the watch and started it up for the day.   I have installed an update and now I select Settings, About, Shutdown, Yes the watch goes black then about five seconds later the fitbit emblem comes back on and the watch is back up and running.  I have been told that by customer services that this is not correct.  Help please am i losing the plot??

The watch should stay off until you press the back button.
