Versa won't switch on after factory reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I haven't been able to sync my versa to my phone app for about 2 months now. I finally had time tonight to try again, and it still wouldn't connect. I decided to do a factory rest as one of the other forms suggested and now it won't even switch on, show a logo, or even light up when on the charging port. My phone's bluetooth doesn't see it either anymore. Please could someone help. I've read other forms but no matter how long I hold buttons, how many times I restart my phone, or how long I leave it on the charging port, nothing happens.

Hi @SunsetRunner, due to the recent events, I apologize for the delayed response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

I'd like to follow up and help you with your Fitbit Versa since it won't turn on or sync with your phone's app. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

In order to avoid providing the same information, let me know how the factory reset was performed. Also, let me know if your watch vibrates when you put it on the charger.

In the meantime, try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. This article contains steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest. Finally, monitor your Versa and see if it comes back to life.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Hi there,

Thank you for getting back to me.

The factory reset was performed by scrolling to settings > about > factory
rest.

Currently there is no response whatsoever when placed on the charging port.
I do have two charging ports and there is no response from either of them.

Hi 😊,

The are many bugs fixed on the latest Firmware version 70.7.27, you can read more about it here:

https://www.revick.net/news/fitbit-versa-update-32-70-7-27-38-70-7-27/

You can also try doing a hard factory reset following the below steps from Fitbit Support:

you can perform a factory reset to your watch by following the next steps, but keep in mind that your apps, stored data, personal information, credit and debit cards, and saved settings will be deleted from your device:

  1. Press and hold the three buttons on your Fitbit for up to 20 seconds.
  2. Once the logo is shown on the screen and then disappear, release the bottom button and hold the other two until you hear a strong vibration. This indicates the reset has started, so you have to release the other two buttons.
  3. This procedure can take several seconds and from time to time the watch will reset to zero showing the logo and the Fitbit.com/setup site.

Hi there!

I have tried this already. There's absolutely no response from the watch
though. I've left it on the charger for 30 minutes or more and it won't
charge or switch on. I've used a different charger, I've cleaned the pins
and the back of the watch, I've changed USB ports for the chargers.
Absolutely no sign of life.

Thank you for your response though 🙂

Hi,

Did you get a response from fitbit on this? My Versa did exactly the same thing as yours. Nothing happened for 2 weeks and Fitbit weren't very helpful, just told me that once it switched on I needed to update the software. Not helpful when it doesn't switch on. Today, I thought I would give it another go. My Versa actually started to charge but it still wouldn't connect to bluetooth. I thought with 100% charge, I could perform a factory reset and now it won't switch back on.

Just wondering if you have managed to sort yours yet. I can't afford to buy another one so will be really gutted it I can't get it to work.

Thanks
