Versa won't sync to my iPhone

RUN away from Fitbit devices if you have an iPhone. This is my 2nd Versa and same exact problem as the first - it only syncs when in the charging station, otherwise won’t connect to bluetooth and is losing time. I spoke with FItbit and did ALL their recommended steps and my device is useless. I was told that since iPhone came out with a software update, I will have to wait an undetermined amount of time for Fitbit to come up with an update. I love the Fitbit app, but now Fitbit is forcing me to rethink my choice of a smartwatch.

So, your reply confirms what I believed - Fitbit gave me a line of BS. The problem is NOT due to iPhone’s iOS update.

They finally offered me a 25% discount on a new fit bit tracker even though my tracker is outside the warranty period. That alone is a an admission of culpability, that their latest firmware upgrade is the issue. I will not take the offer told them that I want a new functioning tracker no luck. I will be purchasing a new tracker from a competitor, sorry to lose all my past data but enough is enough.

If you have an iPhone you know that updating is a double edged sword. What you gain in new gadgets and features, you lose in slower performance and battery issues. Due to this I hadn’t updated my iOS in over a year.

when my limited edition Versa started having the same issues after updating the Versa firmware, I called Fitbit support and they advised me that they wouldn’t assist me further unless I updated my phone.

Guess what happened when I updated my phone to the latest iOS? That’s right. The Fitbit was still broken. It still wouldn’t sync unless in the cradle and at the end was losing over 4 hours while I slept which killed my sleep stats, and had an almost continuous heart rate of 150+ which brought my resting heart rate up to the 90s and again spoiled my stats.

I have succumbed and bought another (Versa 2) but while it is working perfectly, I am too scared to update either the app or the firmware for fear the same thing will happen.

It never was. I'm on Android. I've tried it with Windows and iPhone as well. My Garmin Venu is in the mail now, and I can import the past two months worth of Fitbit data into Garmin Connect.

The Charge 3 just doesn't cut it for the metrics I need.

Also having this issue, I’ve rebooted my phone, tried on and off of WiFi, tried with the Fitbit on the charger, and it fails to sync.  My phone says I’m connected to it but it just isn’t syncing.  I’m gonna try uninstalling the Fitbit app and reinstalling it to see if it fixes its

My Fitbit versa lite has been working perfectly since I had it last September, the past weekend it started to lose time and has had trouble syncing. I has a long online chat with the Fitbit support and did everything l was told including updating my iPhone 6 and restoring factory settings on my Fitbit device. This has not worked and still losing time and intermittently syncing with my iPhone. I feel this is a problem with my Fitbit and not the app or my phone. How long until this is resolved and how will we be notified . I wasted the whole day yesterday and got nowhere with Fitbit support. At least l am not alone with this problem.

So they have basically locked me out of the forums found a way in, I wont take the 25% discount just ordered a g-r--n oops cant say that name on the forum. Fitness tracker plus golf app. I have filed a complaint with the consumer protection branch here in British Columbia. Good luck to the  rest of you.

My advice dont spend any more time or money on fit-bit products.

This is the second time that developers bricked devices with a tracking update.   Shameful.  I have been on hold, waiting for customer support for over fifteen minutes.   I think the development is purposefully bricking devices to force consumers to purchase new devices.  Fitbit was once a reliable software device company.    NO NO NO NO NO NO more.
