Versa won't sync to my phone anymore

Fitbit Versa won't sync with app anymore suddenly. App states it's no longer compatible with my Fitbit. Customer service suggests to do a phone update. Fitbit reset didn't do anything. I can't do update, at cabin without internet, so is update necessary & only solution?

You start by saying Versa won't sync with app anymore.    Sync requires connecting with main Fitbit database so if you have no internet, it will be impossible to sync.  You might get some data, such as step count, updated to phone app via bluetooth, but not full sync and U would not even guess as to what you would get.  But your Versa will store at least a week's worth of detailed data, and after that, daily totals, to sync after you get back to internet.

But how can you be posting above message without internet?

I have always had full sync without sitting in my house where I have Wi-Fi internet, using Bluetooth only. How do you think I posted, all phones have data internet without subscribing to internet/wifi service at our cabin? When I go to the app store to see if I need update to the app, it states this app isn't compatible with my device anymore in bright red letters, & to contact them, which I did, telling me to update my phone because other solution to reset fitbit did not work. Last time I tried phone update without wifi, my phone update in poor service connection quit halfway & phone no longer worked. So I am stuck without a working app to sync my data. Why would you think I need Wi-Fi, rather than Bluetooth to make it sync? You must not understand phones have data internet for me to post this! Fitbit obviously did a update no longer compatible with my Versa! An exoensive device rendered uselss

So to clarify, when you said in original post that you are in cabin without internet, what you meant is that you are in cabin without wi-fi, right?  There are cabins where there is also no cell connection, so your post was confusing to me.

Fitbit has increased the phone version requirements for the app  I don't know if you are Are Android or iPhone.

But to get the message that app is no longer compatible, that sounds like you deleted your fitbit app and tried to re-download it.  Is that correct?  If so, that was a mistake, though not necessarily one you should have known about.

If you do have a phone update available to a newer version, I think your solution is to just wait until you get back to wi-fi and update you phone unless you are in the wilderness for several months.

I didn't do anything with the app, I simply looked at my app info on my phone's android playstore & it stated it was no longer compatible with my device, in red lettering. I won't be doing an update on my old phone, it will use up too much of my phone's memory & then that update most likely will affect my phone's use, like it has in past, just like Fitbit's update did to it's Fitbit users. I just now looked at reviews on the app & there are so many complaints this June '22 about the app. It's time for a device other than Fitbit for me & also reading how Google is tracking my personal info. The new owner, Google, you need to find people who know how to update apps so they work, or leave a working app alone. My sleep tracker recently, past yr or more, also constantly showed a bad sleep percentage if I had a break in my sleep for the night, a main reason I wanted a tracker for my sleep to show my oncologist. It has been inaccurate if Google is using this sleep info to give to insurance companies, like I just read. Goodbye Fitbit!

I'm getting confused about your problem.  Originally you said your issue was that your Versa wasn't syncing.  Okay, that happens sometimes.  That part about looking at the play store and app there being incompatible is irrelevant to your issue.  That just means that there may be some new features that you might not get with you phone's Android version, but you should still continue getting the same features as you have been, just so long as you do not delete you phone's Fitbit app.

And the part about being in a cabin without wi-fi is also a non-issue just confusing things, though probably making things slower.

So back to your original issue:  your Versa is not syncing.  How long has this been happening?  an hour? a day? weeks? months?  Sometimes it just doesn't sync when we want it to, but then it will sync on its own a few hours later.

My steps when it won't sync are to (1) wait an hour or 2, (2) reboot phone and restart tracker, (3) try to sync again.  If that doesn't work, wait a few hours and try again.

Again, the ONLY solution Fitbit customer service had for me was to update my PHONE which I will only do on WiFi, suggested after I had already done on my own what customer service suggested for it to sync, which 1st was to shut off bluetooth, then on again & scan. It doesn't connect to bluetooth. My sync stopped working June 23 & I have tried many times to restart fitbit & to restart phone & to do a Bluetooth scan, many times each day now the 28th. My Fitbit itself was working til battery died last night & I charged it. Now it doesn't even have correct time, useless even as a watch now. So after several says of no service, I looked at fitbit icon app on android phone where you put your finger on app & you can choose 'app info', then choose 'app detaiis in store', that is how I saw it states in red, 'this app is no longer compatible with my device'. I didn't go to the store to redown it or any other messing with the app itself. The ONLY thing my fitbit on wrist is capable of doing now is showing ateps & heart rate.

Did you do a reset of Fitbit? I've had to do this several times in the past. On mine, I press left & bottom right button at same time til it turns off & then restarts again. I was able to re-sync then, but nothing now.

I just looked when Fitbit Versa came out, how old mine may be, April 2018, so I may have bought mine early 2019 making my Fitbit only 3.5 yrs old & it is now rendered useless by an app no longer working with my Fitbit, not syncing by Bluetooth anymore (I checked another device older than 4 yrs & it syncs just fine, so my phone's Bluetooth works just fine). Even the last year+ it didn't give a accurate sleep percentage if was a wake for over an hour in middle of night, which is moat nights, then slept again, it only recorded percentage for the first 3 or 4 hrs sleep plus if I woke before 3 hours sleep it didn't record my rem, deep or light sleep, which was important for me to know. So any other senior citizens out there contemplating a Fitfit, most likely on a budget, your $200+ Fitbit investment won't work much longer than 3 yrs. Can someone give me ideas of a good sleep tracker that also has good heart & oxygen tracker & records accurately less than 3 hrs, unlike Fitbit? My Fitbit is now sitting in a drawer not useable after trying 6 days to get it to sync. Oh ya, I did try one more online suggested solution to go to my fitbit account on my laptop to see if I could sync it there. That didn't work either.
