Versa won't sync with my Samsung Note 8

I've had my Versa since Saturday and I does not want to sync with my Samsung Note 8. I have done the soft reset, factory reset, uninstalled the app and reinstalled, restarted my phone and turn the Bluetooth off and on and it still wont work. Should I return it?

Hello,

I am having the same problem, I got my Fitbit Versa on Christmas. I was able to setup my Versa with my Note 8. Now I am un able to connect to Bluetooth. I was able to sync to laptop and that's it.

I was just reaching out to see if your were able to resolve this issue.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

No I was not. I could get it to Sync but it would never connect to Bluetooth.  I wasnt very happy because it says its compatible.  I returned mine and went back to my faithful Blaze.

I frequently have to power cycle them both to get them to sync.

Greetings? like others, I received the Versa as a Christmas gift and was really psyched to put it to use, however it has been a daunting task on my Samsung Galaxy S8. I get to the part where my phone recognizes  the Versa and I put in the 4 digit number on my Versa display, then it goes into "synch mode" but returns to the "account screen" without completing the process. So there is NO device connected to my account, but every time it ends the same way. It has been paired, I have unpaired it, reloaded the app, restarted the Versa and my phone. And finally I factory restarted my phone...and ended up with the screen that says "to start, download the fitbit app." Wow, this sucks! I see this device going back to whence it came from.

Same issue here. Have spent hours doing all the resets, restarts and dancing in circles trying to get it to work. Have been a loyal Fitbit user for years and have NEVER had problems like this.

I was on the phone today with Fitbit and they are telling me that the Samsung Note 8 is not compatible with the Fitbit Versa.  They said they are working on it but no time in which it will be fixed.  The Note 9 works and the Note 8 table works but not the phone.  Frustrated.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to have you on board @dw13, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. I would also like to thank you all for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. At this moment, I would like to suggest you to check if your device is compatible on this list, that contains the latest update on devices.

If you're having trouble setting up your Versa, please check the instructions on this post and if you're having trouble syncing, check this other one

Please note that many Android phones, have all the hardware requirements to be a supported device but are currently not on our list of supported devices. This means that we have not tested it for compatibility and added it to the list yet. For the time being, we don't have an specific date or time-frame of when is going they will be listed as compatible.

While these devices has all the specifications to be compatible and are currently working with the Fitbit app, it's possible to come across some issues along the way. I appreciate your understanding while we work to improve this experience, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

If you read the boards there are tons of upset customers that can't sync with samsung new model phones. I really want a versa as it is best for my needs but dont understand why since the versa release almost 9 months ago they can't figure out a fix for the Galaxy note series.  I would wait to buy a smart watch if I thought there was hope the fix is coming but no one at Fitbit will give a tentative date. Fitbit is forcing loyal users to buy competitor product because they can't keep up with even older galaxy technology. Disappointing

Hello @dw13, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have taken the time to provide your feedback about this situation. Please keep in mind that we do not have specific time-frames for when new devices are added to the list of compatible devices and it would be irresponsible on my part to provide one. At this moment, mmy suggestion would be to check the list as it gets constantly updated.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I hope you have a great day.

I appreciate finding this thread, but what is completely frustrating is prior to purchasing the Versa the list I had seen with compatible devices didn't exclude the Note 8. It would have been silly of me to purchase the Versa if it had been! Clearly there are plenty of users stuck with an expensive watch that is absolutely useless. I, just like many others, cant return the watch because the time has expired. Fitbit needs to figure this and fast.

I spent a couple of hours trying to sync it.  I did read somewhere the app wont function with two types of fitbits on the account.  It says it's synced after I left it alone spinning and spinning.  I reinstalled fitbit app, shut down phone numerous times, flipped blue tooth off and on, shut off and restarted versa.  Fitbit says it's synced...have to play with it some more before I give up and return it.

Thank you for the feedback. I have gone through all the motions you did
while the battery drained on my phone. I did have another Fitbit linked,
but can give it another try when the weekend approaches. Right now went
back to my Charge 2 that doesn't give me any problems.

Good news. The latest fitbit app, dated 11 Jan...WORKS! I went through the process with a help desk tech, and I'm up and running. Finally I can get the use of this product I had been excited about. I'm not sure if a notice was sent to this forum, but it should have been bcuz they definitely did something different with this latest version, and they should own up to it. I hope each of you have the same success!

I just got a Versa..... selected it for what appears to be great functionality.  After a bit of trouble, I did get it to sync with my Galaxy Note 9.  What is not working, though, is the phone and text notifications.  Has anyone been able to do this?  I 'chatted' with customer support and got the 'party line' that they're working on the compatibility issues.

So after working with 2 different Fit bit agents they finally decided to send me a replacement. i told them i do not see the note 8 on the compatible devices. they said that the note 8 is compatible, well then why am i unable to keep my note 8 sync'd with my versa. also they said i can just recycle this fitbit once i get my replacement. Sounds like this maybe a recurring problem and do not want it back.

So after working and troubling shooting with two different fitbit agents, they finally decided to send me a replacement. I told them I do not see the SAMSUNG NOTE 8 on the compatible devices. They said that the SAMSUNG NOTE 8 is compatible with the Versa, well then my Versa is a defect? Why am  unable to keep my SAMSUNG NOTE 8 sync'd with my versa?  Is it my phone, also they said I can just recycle this fit bit once I get my replacement........
