Versa won't track or sync heart rate, sleep or steps accurately

So for the first time, I left my Versa on while bathing, it got wet and I figured it would be fine because it’s waterproof.I noticed that my active minutes were increasing but didn’t pay attention and went to sleep. I woke up and noticed it said it couldn’t get an accurate heart reading to calculate sleep. Then around lunchtime it stated that I had done 131 active minutes and was in cardio for the majority of the day(today is my rest day I did absolutely nothing). Then I checked my heart rate from last night while asleep and it said my heart rate went up to 196 BPM. I’ve reset it, but now it’s not updating my heart rate or steps. I’ve reset the device but it’s still behaving erratically. Is my watch broken?

i purchased this in 2019 so I’m pretty sure I’m beyond warranty 🙄🙄

Hi @Murly24, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'd like to follow up and help you with your Fitbit Versa since it it's not updating your heart rate, sleep and steps data. By the way, thank you for trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

Since the issue persists, I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. Set up your watch from scratch

Finally, monitor your watch and see if it tracks and syncs the correct data and the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.
