Versa won’t track sleep that starts before midnight

I go to bed usually between 10:30 and 11:30 pm. I tend to wake up several times per night, which is why I need sleep tracking. The Versa will only show me sleep that starts after midnight. For instance, if I go to bed at 11pm, then wake up at 12:40, then fall asleep again at 12:45, my tracking starts at 12:45, not 11. It will track my other periods of waking up and going back to sleep. The result is I can’t see how much sleep I actually got. I’ve checked the previous day’s tracking to see if the pre-midnight to first wake up is there, but it’s not. I’ve read the suggestion on this board that people can manually adjust their sleep record, but that’s not an acceptable answer. I need to see when I actually fell asleep, when I woke up, and what the quality of my sleep was. Can anyone help?

My sleep records start before midnight and carry over. I would first try restarting your tracker. If that doesn't help, try wearing it slightly tighter in bed. If you can't make it tighter, you are likely wearing it too tight to begin with. You should be able to easily slip a finger under the band.

Normally the Fitbit should merge 2 sleep periods that are within 60 minutes into one sleep record. So having 12:40 to 12:45 should be split into 2 records and both show up on the same day.

If the wake periods are less than an hour, then yes they will be combined and the user will need to mouse over the red periods to see the time awake.

This change was made in response to users feature suggestion my

Now if the first sleep period ended before midnight, it most likely will show up on yesterday.

The period ends time determined the day the sleep is recorded.
