Versa won't turn on after factory reset

I did a factory reset on my Versa from the settings on the Versa itself. As soon as I confirmed factory reset, it shut down & I have not been able to get it to power on. Any tips?

I can't do a restart on it because it won't turn back on. It shut down & won't come back. It had about a 50% charge when I tried the reset, it's not the battery.

Unfortunately factory resets often kill the watch.

In the following procedure the PC will announce a device present and then it disconnects again. It does this permanently if the watch is no longer usable.

To see what's happening with the charge

Connect the charge cable to the watch and plug it into a PC USB port

The PC should announce a connected device with a sound, it means its connected and charging

[if there is no sound, either the volume on the PC is low, or off, or the watch is not properly connected to the charger or has a fault]

if PC then announces a disconnected device with another sound, it means the watch battery is either flat or the watch is dead - this may occur repetitively until the watch comes on or is charging.

anyway wait 10 minutes [for battery to get to 5%]

if the watch or battery is not dead it will announce device connected again

[the watch may also wake up]

if after an hour there is nothing on the watch face

try starting it by pressing a button for a few seconds and waiting for the logo to appear or restarting with the buttons

if nothing comes on the screen, either there is a screen or button fault or the watch is dead  - but wait

Check the button start procedurento make sure you are actioning it properly, and that the button clicks

I did a reset too, and now my Fitbit is dead as a doornail.  Tried all the options in the other replies, no luck.

My trouble started 3 days ago, it wouldn't sync, then it started loosing time, I tried all the troubleshooting ideas, then finally, removed the Fitbit from my account.  That didn't work so I did the factory reset.  Little upset to say the least.

@Poodlemama

Looks like a fault in the factory reset destroyed the watch completely.

Probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.

They won't. I tried with them for the same issue. Their response was: buy a new watch.

I ended up buying a new watch, kept trying to reboot the old one, no luck.

hi poodlemama, I had a pain trying to get mine to start a while back, I had tried a factory reset from settings and when that took too long I tried holding all three buttons down till I got a reaction but that was half way through a reset that was not completed, oops. Anyway got the red error message about reset not working, so I tried to set it up on phone as it was still able to pair, which i didnt understand was possible, anyway it started and finished the update and now works fine. Dont give up

I had the same exact issue...wouldn't sync...losing time...did the factory reset and the versa turns on but only to the point of showing the set up screen...go into the app and I can only get as far as the set up screen....keeps saying try again UGH

@Goddogirl  yes don't give up.

Try removing Bluetooth entry from phone with unpair, restart watch.

Clear cache and force stop Fitbit App and restart phone.

Go into Fitbit App and click on + Set up a Device.

Sorry everyone, I gave up.  I have had a Fitbit for seven years, it killed me that I couldn't bring mine back to life, so after trying, and going without, for a full week, I bought a new Versa 2.

you got further than I did.
