Versa won’t turn on after running out of batteries

Fitbit ran out of batteries and it took me a week to find the charger. Despite finally getting charged it won’t turn on even though I have held the back and bottom buttons for all kinds of lengths of time (including more than 11 seconds). Suggestions?
