Versa won't turn on when pressing the buttons

I have a Versa and it was fully charged at 100%.  I turned it off.  When I tried to start it up again, the back button did not work.  I tried pressing the back button and the bottom button, and after holding it for 15 seconds it turned on.  However, it went from being fully charged at 100% to 89%.  I'm not sure why the back button is not working to turning on the device and why its losing a charge by being turned off.  I purchased the Versa in May.

@20VicBar10, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it didn't turn on when you tried to press the buttons.

Please try cleaning around the buttons by using a toothpick in order to remove any dust that may be affecting the functionality of the buttons.

If the issue persists, please put the watch on the charger and let me know if it vibrates.

Looking forward to your response.

Hi Juan,
I cleaned around the buttons, and tried turning on the fitbit. I still
have to use two buttons to turn it on. Also I placed it on the charger and
it did not vibrate.

@20VicBar10, I'm sorry for the late response. However, I appreciate the time spent trying the recommended troubleshooting step.

I'd like you to try one more workaround that has been helpful in order to revive your Versa. Try the steps that are listed in this help article. This article contains the restart process but you can skip it and proceed with the rest. Finally, charge your watch for 2-3 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I followed the article, then I charged the Fitbit Versa. After turning off
the Fitbit and turning it on again, it stayed charged. It only dropped to
98% from 100%.

As for turning it back on with using the back button still does not work.
I still have to use two of the buttons (back button and bottom button), to
get it to turn on.

@20VicBar10, I apologize for the delayed response. I'm glad to hear that the battery is not draining fast.

Since the back button is still unable to turn the device unless you press 2 buttons, I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Please sync your watch before this in order to avoid losing current data.

After this, monitor your Versa and see if the back button turns on the display properly.

Let me know how it goes.

Ok, I completed the factory reset, and I am still not able to turn on my
Fitbit Versa using the back button. I still needed to push the back button
and the bottom button to turn on.

Also, after completing the factory reset, the time on the Fitbit was off.
It was showing 4:40 AM, and the correct time was 5:20. So you know once I
synced the Fitbit Versa on my phone, then the time corrected. (This has
never happened before, and I wanted to share the information with you.)

This is exactly what is happening to me.  I am not sure if it is part of the update or what. As you describe it, I reset to factory default and still I have to press the back button together with the 2 buttons to turn it on.

I have the same issue and nothing is working.

I tried factory reset, cleaning the fitbit, charging the fitbit for an hr, now its not turning on at all.

I am on my 3rd one & so far all of them have this flaw. I figured as long as everything else is working properly, it should not be a concern. I have worked with people at Fitbit and they were not able to help me.
