Hi there Lou53. It was me that came up with the 3 button Fix method. No Fitbit has built a device in the Fitbit Versa that has a problem and they have known about for some time and done nothing to fix it. The problem is with overcharging. If you put your Fitbit on the charge overnight then more than likely this problem will happen (but it doesn't happen in every case immediately)
The problem I have is with Fitbit in that they have done nothing about fixing this problem and if your Fitbit is out of warranty then you absolutely no chance of getting a replacement (which I think is despicable). I don't think it is a software issue otherwise I think they would push out an update so it must be a hardware issue which they don't want to admit too otherwise they would have to replace everybody's Fitbit Versa.

Actually, the three button method can be found on Google. That's where I first learned about the three button method. It's basically a factory reset without going through the full steps of the factory reset. However, @Lordsnooty did post it on the Fitbit forums, so I do have to give this person that credit :). As for the overnight charging that is being advised against, it really depends on your device. After pressing the three buttons and getting my Fitbit to turn back on, I haven't had any problems with the battery or charging it overnight. By the end of the day, my device is at 88%. I do refuse to turn off my device though due to the fear of it not turning back on.

Yes my problems came after the APP update.
I can get the Versa to work with an old phone and the old app but not a new phone running IOS 13 and the latest app.
Its like deliberate obsolesence. I won't be buying another Fitbit because of this.

csharpiro glad to hear that my suggestion/fix worked for you. To be truthful it is not a total fix but it will work for a while. Unfortunately, Google/Fitbit are not interested in this faulty watch so I don't think they deserve are support and therefore it appears from suggestions on here (particularly from Wyoming) that you should consider Garmin. Seemingly there customer service is excellent and their trackers are also good. I know if and when my versa breaks down (and it definitely will) I will look to Garmin for a replacement

The three button fix worked for me. I have had my Versa since July of 2019 and the only times I have had trouble with it are when I let the battery get very low which was the case when a complete black screen happened yesterday. There are many satisfied Fitbit users, me among them. Technology is a wonderful thing but comes with issues - always. No product is without some issues and some dissatisfied customers.

raleighgirl09 Im glad to hear my 3 button method/fix worked for you. I agree all technology has issues but Fitbit have known about this issue from almost when it came to market and have done absolutely nothing about it. In fact, they have brought out the Versa 2 and seemingly it has the same problem. So yes I do agree with you that all technology has issues but when a company totally ignores a major issue and totally ignores the complaints....well that inexcusable. Like you, I did like my Fitbit Versa but this issue has happened to twice and luckily I have been able to restore it using my own 3 button method but the next time it happens I will be looking elsewhere for a new and more reliable watch with a company that really cares about it's products and it's customers....and so far from my research that seems to be Garmin

Same thing happened to my Versa. Can you forward me info on possible ways to rectify it or is it just broke?

AyAyRon131 charge it overnight and that is a sure thing to end it or FRY it. IF you get this fixed what you MUST NEVER do is charge it overnight. I know some people say that charging it overnight works for them but if you look closely at this forum and particularly this Thread you will see that most of the problems are as a result of over-charging......so please do NOT charge your Fitbit overnight....you have been warned.
After I have dealt with that warning lets try and fix it.
I would suggest that you should leave your Fitbit untouched for a couple of days (two at most) and then hold all three buttons down for about 10 minutes or until the Fitbit Versa logo comes up. If that works then you will probably have to treat it as a new Fitbit and register it with your desktop app. If it doesn't work and I suspect it won't but if it doesn't then It is totally broken. If it is within the year warranty then ring Customer Services and demand a new Fitbit and don't take no for an answer. Tell them that Fitbit is making a device that isn't for purpose and they know that and that you demand a replacement. If the Fitbit is outside the warranty period then I'm afraid that is the end of the road....go out and buy a Garmin. I hope some of this advise helps

Schapiro thanks again for your support for my 3 button method Fix. It does work but not in every case but I do agree NEVER EVER charge your Fitbit overnight (yes I know some people do it and nothing happens) but they are in the minority and I found that most people have problems after long charges. So I will consistently recommend that you DONT charge overnight.....not if you want to get it Fried. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
