Versa won't work unless it's connected to the charging cable

Woke up this morning to find my Fitbit exhibiting this behavior:

When I put the watch on the charger, the 0% battery icon appears, then starts to boot. The watch face appears and it shows it having full battery, but then the watch seems to power off. Removing it from the charger, I can't get it to turn on or reset itself. It's only when I put the watch back on the charger that this cycle repeats. I'm tempted to just buy a new one since I don't want to fiddle with this much longer, but if I can revive this watch without much effort then I'll keep using it. Troubleshooting advice for this specific situation would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi there, @FREExMIND. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa.

While reading your post I was wondering if your Fitbit device vibrates when you connected it to the charger? If it doesn't, please try the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
