Versa wont update the firmware

My Fitbit Versa was able to download and update the firmware however now even though it says that it is downloaded, it is stuck on the Fitbit logo and won't go past this. It won't respond to anything that I am doing. Any ideas? I have factory reset and also restarted without success.

Thanks for participating in the Fitbit Forums @Tinasdsu. Let me give you a warm Welcome to our Community. Thank you for pointing this out @NellyG

I would like to thank you for all your efforts looking for a solution. Lets check the following:

  • Your Fitbit Versa's battery isn't critically low.
  • Your phone has a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection.
  • Your phone isn't managing other Bluetooth connections. If you have multiple Bluetooth products like speakers or headsets paired to your phone along with your Fitbit device, you may have trouble using more than one at the same time. Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.
  • If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.
  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  1. Tap the Play Store app.
  2. Tap or click the menu icon in the top left corner.
  3. Tap My apps & games. If the Fitbit app has an update, you’ll see it in the Updates list.
  4. Tap Update.

With those requirements in order, please delete your Versa from your Fitbit account and try to set it up as a new device again. You can also try the update steps or setup logging in to your Fitbit account on a different compatible device.

Give it a try and keep me posted in case you still need help. clipboard_image_0.png

No it is an issue with the fitbit itself.  I have now found water visible where the heartbeat sensor is.  I wore it swimming with my kids which is when this must have happened.  I thought this was waterproof?  My wrist was no deeper than 1 foot and there are not cracks or damage to the screen or watch.
