Versa working only when plugged into charger

Good day,

My fitbit was working perfectly yesterday and this morning the screen went black, my first thought - battery dead.

Great plug into the charger 0% - as I want to leave the house after an hour, the screen is in showing 100% and all is perfect.

I remove the watch from the charger and the watch turns black and I can do anything on the screen.

I have full use in the charger the moment I remove the charger I can not use my Fitbit Versa.

Please advise on the way forward, as my watch is not even 6months old! I have videos of what it does!!

Thanks

Hi @Michvg, welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if at the moment you remove the Versa from the charger, the heart rate sensors keep flashing or the device becomes completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation

Looking forward to your reply.

@RicardoFitbit

The moment I remove it from the charger it is unresponsive. I cleaned it, Everything!

I tried the restart but it does not even show the fitbit sign. Unresponsive.

I started to experience this exact same problem this morning. I charged my versa the day before so it shouldn’t have been died. It reads 99% when it’s on the charger but cuts off immediately after taking it off the charger. RESETTING THE WATCH DID NOT HELP 😩😩😩😩

Welcome aboard @Slimming_Tina and thanks for your update @Michvg, it's a pleasure to continue providing assistance.

Since the troubleshooting steps from my previous post didn't work, I recommend you to try our factory reset procedure following the next steps:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

Let me know if further assistance is needed and if you have any additional questions.

This did not work, seeing as I have a versa lite and only have one button. I held the one button and still have the same problem.

This did not help. I have a versa lite. I held the one side button and it did nothing. I even let the Fitbit sit on the charger over night and now it won’t cut on at all. I am still under warranty and need help ☹️
