Versa worth the upgrade from Charge 2?

Hey!

I just bought a Charge 2. I'm wondering if I should exchange it at the shop and upgrade to the Versa?

Normally the price difference isn't that big, but I bought the Charge 2 while on sale, so the Versa is twice the price of the Charge 2. Is it worth the price difference? I really like the Charge 2 and I like how simple it is to use. The most annoying thing is that it isn't waterproof and that the HR sensor sticks out a bit so it hurts my wrist a little. Do any of you have any experience with these watches? What do you recommend?

Hi,

I just bought a Versa to replace my Charge 2, which I was happy about.

I guess it depends what you are looking for:

Advantages/Pros of Charge 2 vs. Versa:

  • Much better battery life (probably twice as long). I was easily getting more than 5 days on the Charge 2, but struggling to get more than 2.5 days on the Versa
  • Simpler device to use
  • Smaller device
  • Smaller USB charger to carry around
  • Better straps and system to attach them, much easier to swap straps
  • Probably more robust, less likely to be damaged

Drawbacks of Charge 2 vs. Versa:

  • Versa can do much more, and many third party apps
  • HR sensor does stick out on Charge 2 but flat on Versa
  • Limited screen info/screen size, better exercise mode on Versa
  • Limited notifications from apps (a lot more notifications from Versa, like emails, WhatsApp etc.)
  • No Fitbit Pay
  • No music player
  • No third party apps on Charge 2
  • Limited clock faces (only from Fitbit)
  • No swimming
  • Probably thicker
