Versa2 'not connecting' to GPS and/or Iphone

My fitbit versa 2 had been working perfectly tracking my runs and then I could see them in strava. I loved it, I was happy and at peace...

In the last week, when I start a run my versa 2 just says 'connecting' and then at the end of the run I have no data on where I have been.
Now because I don't trust fitbit entirely I have always simultaneously used the nike app - and I like it's voice better. And that works perfectly, so clearly my iphone is able to connect to gps for the whole of my run.
On my last run, I did stop every so often open up my fitbit app on my iphone and that got the connection going again. However, within a few minutes, the gps connection is lost (presumably when my iphone automatically locks).
This never happened before and it's really irritating.
In terms of setting my versa2 is set Connected GPS 'on' and in my iphone in Location Services it is set to 'Always'.

Please hlep me fix this as it is really really stressing me out.

Hi,

has anyone got back to you on this?
I just recently got my Versa 2 and have the same issue, which defeats the purpose of having it.

Took forever and I did get a reply. They said to switch blue tooth off and on.

Now I do that before each run (even though it said the versa is connected) and I haven’t had a problem. But it does feel like a glitch at their end.

This is EXACTLY what I am experiencing. After one month of use, I suddenly can’t connect to GPS when the screen is locked. I’m so frustrated -

I will be sure to try to toggle the Bluetooth
