Verse and active minutes

My Versa isn’t calculating my active minutes. I  walked my treadmill for an hour at various speeds and inclines and “0” active minutes were recorded. Today I did a 3 mile neighborhood walk in an hour and a half and again no recording.  Because my step count is my driving factor, I wear my Versa on my ankle to get an accurate recording. My heart rate still picks up but my active minutes are non existent. I’ve also tried shutting my Versa down and restarting to no avail.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, you need to wear your Versa on your wrist to get accurate steps readings. Why is that? The Versa is registering your steps by the movement on your arms when you're walking or running. Wearinf it on your ankle does not register your steps although you would expect that. Simple test for this is: go sit in a chair and move your wrist for- and backwards and your Versa will tell you the "steps" you have doen, whilst you do not have done any steps at all. Hope this helps.

My step count works fine and is “much” more accurate when wearing my device on my ankle. It’s able to count my steps when I’m pushing a shopping cart, lawnmower, etc activities that I don’t swing my arms. The problem is my “active minutes” are not recording consistently. I always wear my device on my ankle so this inconsistency has me puzzled.

I have the exact same issue. Except when I where mine on my ankle it also doesn't track my heart rate or sleep.my daughter has same tracker where's hers on her ankle and it tracks everything. When we called to ask why.the response we revived was " fitbit were not meant to be worn on your ankle. And can be inaccurate and erratic on the ankle"

Thank you for the response! Mine operates like your daughter’s it tracks
everything except my active minutes. With so many people wearing their
Fitbit on their ankle hopefully they’ll take notice and in the next update
add a bug fix for it.
