Volume control on Air Pods using Versa and iPhone

This is to listen to my Pandora, My solution was, on the watch you have to change your Audio output source to your phone, rather than your watch, then you'll be able to change tracks and turn volume up or down with your watch since it's already paired with your phone via Bluetooth. I have an iPhone 8+ and use the air pods. For this hold the left side button for music controls, slide over to your track list, click on the bottom left three dots with the phone icon, and there it is, good luck.

The only issue with this is: I go out for a jog and do not want to take my phone with me.

This is the clearest explanation I've seen yet, and it worked for me.  Coming from the Blaze to the Versa, the controls and how they work are quite different -- the Versa is less intuitive, but does more.  I'm not that interested in loading music onto my watch... I always have my phone with me.  I just wanted to be able to control the volume, change tracks or pause audio from my Versa and not have to reach for the iPhone.  Thing is, I found it once quite by accident and it worked great... but I had no idea how I got to the audio source selection screen.  Thanks for the excellent tip!

Still can't use Ionic with airpods WITHOUT phone. I've seen posts since 2017 about this issue...will this ever be resolved? I don't think I will remain with Fitbit until they can support the most popular Bluetooth devices (in addition to resolving constant syncing issues). If Android phones manage to support apple airpods so should Fitbit! No longer paying top dollar for subpar products, Fitbit!
