Walking calories - grossly over estimated?

I'm new to the Versa 3 and community but it's already become apparent that the device might be significantly over estimating walking calorie burn. I also own a Huawei device and today I took them both out for a walk.  The're is reasonably close agreement with regard to HR, step count and distance, however the Fitbit calories estimated is much higher.  As a reference I checked several online resources.  They of course don't have access to HR data but rather use your biometrics and METS as a means of estimating approximate calorie burn:

The numbers estimated here agree quite closely with my Huawei device - for this particular walk it suggested I burnt around 320kcal.

Another calculator https://www.omnicalculator.com/sports/walking-calorie :

415kcal

Checking several other sources it seems numbers ranging somewhere between 320 - 420kcal is where they should be.  My Huawei device recorded 369kcal, however FitBit Versa 3 says 557kcal for the same walk - which seems excessive relative to the information suggested by all the other sources.

However, when it comes to running the two devices do actually seem to be in agreement.  I haven't taken both devices on a run together yet but the numbers I'm seeing from Versa3 look quite similar to the ones I'm used to seeing on my Huawei tracker.  Huawei records an easy run for me at around 10kcal/min and based on the three runs I've so far tracked with the Versa3 that's also what I'm seeing.

So, what's up with those walking calories?
