Walking not correct milage or map

Walking using versa. Milage and map not correct.  Usual milage is 3.6 it only tracked 2.3 miles. Map missed off milage and actual route. So unhappy only had it 2 days.

Hi all the instructions I'd already followed and This was already set. My phone was no more then 2 feet away max at all times, while walking.
I've moved from a garmin to the versa and have to say this disappointment that the mapping is way out. It missed out complete roads, streets even alleys. Is there anyway to make it more accurate readings. I know the route we took was 3.6 miles yet only picked up 2.4 miles. Makes me worry if anything else incorrect.
