Watch or app not recording my walking distance accurately

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Lately my walk exercises have not been recorded accurately. When I look at the map of my walk the lines make it look like I’m jumping from my house to the park and across the park etc. Subsequently my walk total is significantly less since I seem to be flying for part of it.

Any clues on how to fix this? I don’t know if an update caused this or what. I read where someone suggested holding my phone while I walk/run but this shouldn’t be necessary since placing it in my pocket worked fine before this started.

@mmaree2000 , Nice to see you around. Thank you for your message.

Could you please describe how do you start an activity! Please provide all the steps that you do.
Do you start the activity on the Versa 3 or on the app?

Keep in mind that the Versa 3 includes a GPS feature.

Do you see a straight line from point a-point b (eg, from your home to the park) or do you see just dots on the map?

If you see a straight line, it means that the GPS got disconnected during the activity.
In that case I suggest you to have a look at this: How do I get my Fitbit device to connect to GPS?

Hi. I typically start my exercise activity by the plus button, choosing the activity and pressing start. I use the app. I see straight lines. Since this started a week or so ago I started tracking my walks on my Versa 3 instead, but this isn’t as handy to do. I would rather use the fitbit app on my phone.

looked at the suggestions for getting my device to connect to GPS, but my versa 3 has no problem with that. Any other suggestions?

@mmaree2000 , Thank you for your reply ! The feature you are using by pressing the Plus button in the app, is called MobileRun. This feature uses the GPS and the data collected by your phone. Mostly it will overwrite the data tracked by the Versa 3.

We released a new app that is rolling out. Soon it will be available for all users.

I ask you for a little patience and then install it. This should solve this issue with MobileRun
