Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

Fitbit Update: 1/24/19

Our team is still investigating these reports for water logs not syncing over to the Fitbit app after logging them on your watch. We appreciate your reports and feedback.

If I receive any new information, I will update this thread so please stay subscribed. Thank you!

Hello @DougBoyd I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that when you log water in your Fitbit Versa, you will always see your last log. To see the log history, you will need to sync it with the app.

With that said, I would like to suggest you to go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Versa Lite > Apps and make sure the Today app has been fully updated. If an update is pending, that's the reason the watch is not syncing the water logs correctly. Please update the Today app and then log water in your watch and sync it with your phone.

Give these steps a try and let us know the outcome!

Hello @DougBoyd I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around. It's great to see you too @SteveH thanks for all your help.

@DougBoyd I appreciate you have taken the time to report this situation. At this moment, if you haven't yet, please go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Versa Lite > Apps and make sure the Today app has been updated. If the app is not on the latest update, the water logged in the watch will not synced correctly.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, give this a try and let us know the outcome.

Hello @DougBoyd I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I appreciate you have let us know you've checked and there's no update needed for the Today app. At this moment, I would like to ask you to go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Versa and let us know the Versa version. This will be very helpful for us to check this further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we'll be waiting to hear from you.

Is there a timetable for when these water logging bug issues will be fixed, seems like it is a problem for many. At this point my best alternative is to just disable the feature on my watch to avoid the constant aggravation and disappointment

Still having issues with the Water logging from the watch to the App.  I'm also seeing that when I log water in the app it also places that same amount in previous days when they were different.  Anyone else seeing this?

@DNyberg of course we are. That's because, as Fitbit has already stated many times, they are still working on the issue. Why it's been almost a YEAR and they still haven't fixed a simple software bug is beyond me.

None of the tips from Fitbit work for me either (reboot, uninstall, etc). Both logging the water or weight on my versa never make it to the fitbit app. It says "logged " then disappears

Right @Looceefur because see my post above.

You’re telling me you released the Versa Lite knowing we couldn’t log water?! WOW.

Apparently I’ve drank 30,073.5ml today, despite drinking and logging 250ml each occasion, according to you, I drank a whopping 7393.4ml each time. 👏🏼

So when’s your ETA? Or should I just buy a competitor? Because this thread is ancient and you’ve given zero ETAs.

@Anniexo yup, pretty much. If accurately being able to log water from your watch is a the most important feature to you, then I would suggest not holding your breath and go with a different watch. However, if you can be patient for Fitbit to fix this one issue, then by all means, go with a Fitbit.

Doesn't have to be "the MOST important issue" but is important to me that
ALL features work correctly, esp. at the price they charge.

Totally agree @Fitlark. Hence my post above.

People have been having issues with logging water/weight/distance since December last year! Their posts are 18 pages long! That’s not a prompt resolution. I have been really excited with Fitbit Versa but it’s just not working properly. And if water and weight logs aren’t correct, the distance on Dashboard doesn’t update, who knows if other features even work correctly?! Unfortunately I am really considering returning it and looking for a different one.

It isn't that it's the most important feature. It's the fact that they seem to be lying. I can't believe that they are trying to fix the problem. 6 to 7 months is enough time if they are working on the problem. They have developed new watches and continued selling defective products. The coment about returning it if it's the most important feature makes you sound like you work for Fitbit. If I bought a new car and the raido/CD player did not work  from day one. I would be upset if had to wait 6 months for it to be fixed. It would not be the most important feature. That does not make it less irritating. Promises that they were working on it do very little. The car still runs well. The car is still safe. But I did not get what I paid for. In the over all cost of the car the radio is a very small feature. But I expect it to work on day one or replaced within the week.Sent from my Galaxy Tab® A
