Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

Fitbit Update: 1/24/19

Hey Versa Fam!

Our team is still investigating these reports for water logs not syncing over to the Fitbit app after logging them on your watch. We appreciate your reports and feedback.

If I receive any new information, I will update this thread so please stay subscribed. Thank you!

Quick view is already turned on. And I've done the whole turn it off and back on again thing. Still nothing. I refuse to waste any more time on it. You're meant to be able to get these things out of the box and then they JUST WORK. The product isn't fit for purpose. Plus I've been extremely disappointed with Customer Services.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

How is this coming along? My Versa is new. And the waterlogging isn't functioning. Sometimes it is...sometimes it's not.

Same goes for the weight.

And I've tried the tips in the update from February. It does not seem to work for me.

I returned mine today. Ordered a Garmin instead. Fitbit Customer Services told me they didn't have a fix for these issues yet but would make an announcement when they do. I wouldnt hold my breath......Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

So I read from my research on the forums to sync my device with my phone from the phone app. When you open the app on the today screen, you can pull down the screen to sync and refresh so I do that first. Then I click on my picture at the top left hand corner of the today screen then select my device and sync from there. After doing all that it works for me. Sometimes I would have to log the water on my Fitbit Versa then make sure I close the today app on the device( basically swipe up until you are shown the watch face/home screen) and that would work. I want to believe this issue will be fixed so that the device communicates better with the phone app or whatever is causes this issue. I’ve owned my device for a short amount of time and I’m enjoying it. I just want it to run smoother than it currently is. Also I’ve tried a third party app for logging in water that works flawlessly. Which is a little weird because it works better at logging in and syncing my logged water intake then the app made from Fitbit. It’s free too. Sorry for the long answer. I hope it helps you.

@SunsetRunner You forgot to name the app! Are you talking about Strava?

Blaze, Surge, Ionic and Versa1. I am not a FitBit employee.

It’s Ionic Water. It looks cheesy but syncs just fine.

This isn’t your phone.  The issue with the water not logging to the phone  happened when I was using the iPhone 7.  I just got an 8+ and the problem still lingers.

my steps update to my phone but the water entered in the Versa never updates to the phone app.

I find their latest app release is very buggy for the Versa.  It freezes a lot in Fitbit logo mode.  It never did this before the last app update.

This thread is old now and the current Fitbit water app has the same problem.

Yes, best fix is to return it. Look at the previous post and you will see that water logging hasn't worked for years with no expected fix in the near future.

Not in the past year. We all should have done our research first

I researched. All the articles rated the Versa in the top ten. Not one mentioned any problems. I didn't know about this Community Forum until after I'd bought the Versa and signed up.I returned the Versa and bought a Garmin Vivoactive 3 music. It's a bit bigger and I'm still finding my way around all the programs and settings but it's MUCH better. No water logging feature built in but I've downloaded an app. The app doesn't sync to the phone but that doesn't matter as the watch actually records what I'm drinking so I can keep track each day. The Garmin actually does what it's supposed to!!Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I downloaded app called "Ionic Water". Nice little interface which looks
like the phone app. It works! Doesn't sync immediately but that's ok. I
just need it to update the app and seems to work.

Glad you like it. It sucks that it has to happen like that. I still have no problem with my versa syncing.

I have tried a few others but like that the Versa is so light on my wrist
compared to others. So, will see how it goes over next few days.
Appreciate everyones feedback.

Not one mentions it because they monitor and delete any negative reviews on their apps and products. I know this because I've had my reviews deleted and emailed by fitbit to not make such posts even though they were honest

Hello,

Have there been any updates about this?
I've had my versa lite for just a week and I'm noticing this problem too.

Thanks!

I got it working, and this is how:

  1. Remove Versa from Fitbit mobile app.
  2. Force close Fitbit mobile app.
  3. Forget Versa as a bluetooth device on your phone.
  4. Add Versa to your account via Fitbit mobile app
  5. DO NOT turn on all day sync of your Versa

After that it started working. Sometime syncing is not immediate, sometimes I put 500ml and its syncs as 14457ml, sometimes water total says 700ml with entries 500ml, 200ml, 500ml.

But more or less it started working.
