Water logged on device doesn't show in Fitbit app (RESOLVED)

Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

Fitbit Update: 1/24/19

Hey Versa Fam!

Our team is still investigating these reports for water logs not syncing over to the Fitbit app after logging them on your watch. We appreciate your reports and feedback.

If I receive any new information, I will update this thread so please stay subscribed. Thank you!

Trust me! We have all done that. Works for a while and then just stops. Let me know when it stops for you.

I tried a few different ways.  I ended up switching from Versa Lite to Versa and for some reason it started working (sort of).  I don't there is any correlation to switching as the sync is still somewhat a bit random.  I then loaded an app called "Ionic Water" because it has a similar interface as the app on phone.  That seems to work better but the sync seems to be at least a day later.  May have to stop drinking water to keep in alignment with phone app!!  It's not a big deal for me other than I wish it worked and sync'd in real time like everything else.

The same response for over a year. When you have something more constructive to post, please do. Until then, blah blah blah. It's starting to get annoying!!!

I look forward to this working. I loved the idea when I saw it. I liked not having to go into the app anymore.

This still seems to be an issue, has there been a fix yet?

@JuanJoFitbit how many times are you guys going to utter these meaningless words without actions? Are you aware that it's been...OVER. ONE. YEAR. Less talk, more action.

@Missy9326 of course not.

@swiderro unfortunately, it's not a fix and doesn't solve the issue. Temporarily perhaps. This is something that can only be fixed by Fitbit devs. The issue is not on our end - it's on theirs. Nothing we can do.

Same issue here.  It is intermittent with info logged on device and then showing up in the app.  Too bad.  This is one of the features I was needing with the versa.  Glad I found this thread.  Thought I was going crazy.

It is just to bad. Logging water is the easiest thing which we all want and Fitbit focuses on the new products and new features without listening to existing customers.

Is there an update on this? I am still having the issue.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I hold little to no hope this will be resolved for as I have read as it hasn't worked for many users for several years!

Dumping product and going back to Garmin.

@thill5909 @JanBru same answer as yesterday. And the day before that. And the month before that. And the year before that. No.

I wonder if the new Versa 2 has the same issue?

We will know within the week... Not hopeful!

It is a subtle observation but in watching the promo videos of the Versa 2, they show a few clips of the screens and the logging water screen is not shown.  Hmmmmm??

'actively' would infer incremental progress is being made.  Doesn't seem so given the length of this thread.  Surely your dev team has ETAs and if this were truly escalated the ETAs would be available.

I also have this problem. Glad it’s not my phone that seems to be the problem. It’s kinda frustrating when you really try to drink a lot of water and this doesn’t work.. Can I please get a solution ASAP!
