Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

Fitbit Update: 1/24/19

After dealing with this for a month AND receiving a new device AND upgrading my android app this morning --still does not work, my fitness pal stopped syncing. I have been working with support for almost 2 months now. They are not acknowledging this as a known issue and yet they keep seeming to pump out new devices.  They suggested that I just use the app for inputting my information. I am trying to get away from always needed my phone so this was such poort customer support.

Garmin is having a 30% off sale for 30 hours. I picked up at Garmin Forerunner 35 for $99 has all the features of the Versa Lite + GPS (which means it works better w/ Strava). I will return this device and and get an extra $60 in the price the difference.

This was my 4th fitbit device and they have lost a customer forever.

The issue still persists. I update the water logs on the fitbit Versa watch but it is not synced with the app.

Is there any update on this from fitbit?

The first time I contacted support they told me to enter my water using the app.  Based on this community thread it has been a known issue for over a year

My verse lasted 13 months and is now dead, we have tried everything to revive it. It stopped working after an aqua class. I was told by Fitbit it’s past warranty I should buy another. I am furious having spent so much for something that has lasted just over a year. I am making sure I tell all my gym friends who are thinking of buying any Fitbit. They don’t even offer to look at it

Anyone else experienced that when you log water on Versa, it won't sync with Fitbit app?

Some while back this was an issue that fitbit were looking into. Have a look at the following thread where they were posting updates and some things to try. The last update was quite a while back so I don't know if they are still looking into it.

I tried everything, but with no luck. It's shame that this feature is not working...

Also, making entry for calories also should be from device, not from phone.

In this way it does not make sense at all, because you can do all of that without having a watch.

After few hours of keep entering logs on Versa, I have got this result... Above my entered logs that somehow suddenly appeared, these abnormal results appeared also by themselves...

Hi all!

yesterday I got the new firmware update of my versa and I was hoping that the water logging was solved, so this morning I entered 2x 200ml on the versa and at the next synchronization with the mobile I got the surprise: instead of 400 ml I have found 13308,1 ml!

Apparently the bug is still there 😞

Cheers,

toto

Mine also of late seems to have little fairies adding prodigious amounts of
water when I'm not looking

I can confirm this issue also exists on both mine and my wife's brand new Versa 2.

Hope they fix this soon, but doesn't look promising from this thread...  😞

If you look on fitbit's website, you will notice that they have discontinued the versa. You should all keep this in mind if you haven't passed the date to return it back to the store.

Howdy, simply have tolerance, the Today screen will be refreshed quite soon. Put your tracker in the charger and associated with a PC and for the most part the Today screen will be refreshed consequently. If not, go to your Fitbit application - go to applications - my applications - and see on the correct side of the screen if the Today application needs refreshing. In the event that indeed, update it and you're done.

"Howdy, simply have tolerance, the Today screen will be refreshed quite soon."

Does this mean you are Fitbit employee with direct knowledge that the bug has been addressed and a release containing the bug fix is being released?  Because this sounds like the same BS we continue to get from Fitbit directly.   Hurry up and wait is all I hear.

It's really frustrating as this is one of the pieces of the Today app that I want to actually use.

Like someone previously mentioned, sometimes it works (rarely) and sometimes it doesn't (mostly).  It puts some water logged on the wrong day, other times it requires full app "force stop", and even then it doesn't always sync up.

@Fitbit.....really?  Is this the best you can do?

And before anyone asks, yes, the Fitbit App is up to date, the Firmware is up to date, the Today app within Fitbit is up to date......what's not up to date is the Fitbit developers.

Just got the Versa update. I like their resolve of this issue. They removed the app from the watch so you can ONLY do it through the app on the phone. Way to go Fitbit. Way to go backwards instead of just fixing it.

@Fitbit.....you are some real brains.

Based on the comment about an update, I went to check what was being updated.  So here's what I found.

The firmware is being updated from 32.68.9.12 to 32.68.9.15.  So I click on the "What new in the....blah blah blah" and it directed me to OS updates in each release.   So tell me, what are you updating? The Firmware, or the OS?  Becuase my device nor my app tell me what OS I'm running and there is NO information in the updates in the Firmware from 12 to 15.....SO?!?!???  Which is IT?

I have installed the iconic water app. This seems to be working and updating the app on the phone as well with no issues.
