Water logged on device doesn't show in Fitbit app (RESOLVED)

Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

Fitbit Update: 1/24/19

Hey Versa Fam!

Our team is still investigating these reports for water logs not syncing over to the Fitbit app after logging them on your watch. We appreciate your reports and feedback.

If I receive any new information, I will update this thread so please stay subscribed. Thank you!

I know and I am sorry!! For me I just accepted the fact it's my watch nothing more  Again even though it is not my fault I am sorry for everyone who had to waste so much money on a product that isn't worth it

you are absolutely 100% correct, no matter what the moderators say that they are working on it. They are not. They just came out today with a Fitbit versa light version. They really should fix the original version of the versa before they go introducing new versions.

Best Answer

Most Definitely!! The new watch that came out is their primary focus. Then it will be on to the next, and the next  They probably copy and paste their responses to all of us  This problem among gobs of other issues have been going on for way over a year with the very same responses  It's truly tragic.

My FitBit Versa still has this issue. I have an iPhone 7 Plus. The Versa has all sorts of syncing issues. It doesn’t seem able to show that day’s workouts, even though I manually activate them on the Versa. And if I enter my water intake on my Versa it doesn’t show up on the app ... or it suddenly shows up, but on the wrong day — so it will look like 130 ounces on one day, and zero on another. I’m constantly having to guess, do complicated math, input data multiple times, etc. I “upgraded” to a Versa from my Charge 2 for all of these extra features ... but none seem to work properly. I should have taken the free Charge 2 warrant replacement instead of paying more than $100 for something that doesn’t do what it is supposed to do.

Hey guys my advice is to return it to fitbit for a full refund.   They advertised the products with this feature and it doesn't work so breaking UK (I'm not sure in other countries) Trading Standards law (you can't advertise and sell something that doesn't work 100%) - you're entitled to a full refund.

Fitbit if you're listening - sack your head of development.  Instead of putting resource into new features, fix the old features that don't work first - otherwise you're just gonna p*ss off your customers and they all tell they're friends how crap it is and it's not fixed.  There's 3 in my office alone that want to buy a versa but aren't because they really liked being able to log water intake during the day on the fitbit.

No excuses Fitbit somebody isn't delegating and prioritising correctly within your company.

I'll except it for now but won't be purchasing another fitbit device in the future.

Did this but didn't work. My Today app is updated, I logged in and out in my fitbit app and synced. I even stopped using 3rd party clock because I was told when I contacted the tech support that they are buggy and can interfere with versa's functionality. I am ok with not logging my water in my watch but just like anyone else, the uselessness of this feature is difficult to ignore. Why add it if it's not working or not fully tested?

Noticed there was an update to the "Today" app on my Ionic. After completing the update, water synced correctly for a day. I was happy as the solution to this long-awaiting problem finally arrived...

The following day, back to the same broken functionality. Restarting the device seems to temporarily fix it, but this is unacceptable if it's something that has to be done daily in order to function properly.

Disappointed to say the least.

Finally got mine to sync and discovered my 56 ounces of water I entered
earlier became 208 on my phone. Is this better than the preceding 5 days of
zero? I'd like to warn everybody that wants to buy a Fitbit

In the meantime, download the ionic water app for the versa. Works great!

Update: I factory reset my versa and did not use 3rd party clocks. The water log synced to the app but I have to tap the water log in the app to update. I have been doing the experiment for a day now. I log the water in my watch, sync, then enter (or access) the water log in the app. It is now flawless syncing like the core stats but it's better while we await the fix.

Bug fixes need to happen faster than this.  This was first reported back in December.  It's now March 10th and this feature STILL does not work.  Sorry Fitbit, but I will not buy another device.  Once I find a suitable replacement for my Versa, I am moving on and not coming back.

I agree with you. They don't seem to care about the customer.

You didn't read my full post. Below was my original message. Genuinely curious - does the water intake function work correctly for any users posting in this thread? Or is it "broken" for everyone? If it's broken for everyone, why is it advertised as a feature?
