Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

Fitbit Update: 1/24/19

Hey Versa Fam!

Our team is still investigating these reports for water logs not syncing over to the Fitbit app after logging them on your watch. We appreciate your reports and feedback.

If I receive any new information, I will update this thread so please stay subscribed. Thank you!

The only fix that seems to work is to keep force closing the app and then resyncing with my versa but that works about half the time. There’s an issue in the data handshake between the versa and the app

Ps please add Spotify to the fitbit

I'm happy to report that I was able to log my water intake (and weight) using my versa and it showed up in my fitbit app after syncing. I'll come back to this thread if it stops working.

Update: Water intake didn't sync again even after restarting the watch and fitbit app 😞

Update 2: Just wanted to share some observations. When I log my intake on my watch and then sync it to my app, the main dashboard on the phone will still say 0 oz. But if I tap that tile to see detailed stats, it updates and reflects the amount I logged using my watch. Then when I go to the main dashboard on the app again, my water intake is there. So basically, I have to tap the water intake tile on my phone for that info to be reflected, even after syncing.

Try uninstalling the Fitbit app, rebooting the phone and then reinstalling the app. That worked for me.

Hi!

I received the Fitbit Versa for a Christmas gift and I’m experiencing the same issue. It’s super frustrating!

Hello,

i can log water intake on my Versa, and on the app. Neither of them add up together though. I sync them together, but still my Versa will have whatever I have input there, and my app will have whatever I have input there too. Surely

if I input 100ml on my app, and then 200ml on my Versa. Once synced both should say 300ml. This isn’t the case though- any help please?!

Tried but unfortunately didn't work. Also tried deleting the Versa from the app and then re-linking it. I'm tired of having to re-do my settings, I'm giving up until fitbit puts out a real solution

After more than a week of observation, it works half of the time for me, on conditions:

  • It works great if I can sync my watch right away/in reasonable time. It would show the correct total on the versa and log on the app.
  • FYI, I only sync on wifi. And unfortunately, I don't get wifi during daytime/at work.
  • There was a day I lost all records. I couldn't sync until I get home, after 9 hours of work. And they never showed up.
  • The strangest case was yesterday. Yesterday, I lost the three logs (14,14,13) on the watch I recorded while I was at work. I went home to sync on wifi and the three logs never got on. I logged and synced a new 8oz on the watch (on wifi), and that worked, but also means the previous logs were officially lost. Curiously, I logged 3 oz before I sleep, it wouldn't show despite syncing, but it did show up after 8 hr of sleep after the morning sync.

I don't know what the hell is going on. But I can rely on the function as long as I know I'm on wifi. LOL

Same thing is happening to me. Not only will the water I logged not show up in the app, but now it won't let me log anymore water. It says I have to sync my watch with the mobile app to keep going, and no matter how many times I sync it won't show up in the app or let me log anymore.

I seem to have a slightly different problem, but I suspect it’s related. I can log water on my Versa and that seems to sync okay, however I am having ghost entries appearing with far more water than I’d ever drink. For example, until I deleted them I had two entries for over 4 litres and over 8 litres appear yesterday, a day when I’d only logged a couple of specific drinks for less than a litre, and that was the second time that’s happened this week. Unfortunately I didn’t take note of the exact values, but  they didn’t look manually entered (something like “4,372” - too precise to be something I’d typed) and from recollection I think the 8 litre entry was exactly double the 4 litre one. Should it recur I’ll take note of the exact figures.

Actually, whilst typing this I had an idea. 150 US fluid ounces is 4436 millilitres and 300 is 8872. I wonder if there’s 150 and 300 ml drinks logged somewhere that keep being misread as fl oz?

Same issue. Have tried to remove app, Bluetooth on/off, removed device. Nothing works. Very disappointing!  Have iPhone 8+

This worked for me, thank you.

 - uninstall app

 - restart phone

 - restart watch

 - install app

 - force quit app

 - start app

But did it continue to work?  I did all that and it worked for one entry both times I did get it working again and then didn’t work any longer. It seems this is a bug that needs to be fixed by FitBit. I refuse to keep going through this over and over until I find out they have fixed this issue. Thanks for the suggestion though.

The next glass I logged on the watch synced with the app after clicking
through the dashboard to Water and then clicking on Today.

Mine has worked for more than a week now. The only issue was when it finally synced, all the data from the Versa dumped into one day, 4500 oz. Had a lot of deleting to do.
