Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

My water logging which WAS working after deleting the app, restarting my phone, rebooting my Versa and reinstalling the app is now NOT WORKING. I'm unwilling to go through all these steps again. This is a nice feature IF Fitbit could get it to work.

I'm sorry if this annoys you. Try one more time:
1. Uninstall the Fitbit app from your phone
2. Shutdown your Fitbit
3. Reinstall the Fitbit app on your phone, wait until it comes. Wait an extra 10 seconds (old school).
4. Turn on your Fitbit. Wait an extra 10 seconds (old school)
5. Test a few times, several minutes (15-30) apart
As I recall, for me it seemed show the most difference the next day.

Good luck. Hang in there.

Try deleting the entry from your iphone log, wait approximately 30 minutes,
then enter the amount from your Fitbit. Wait another 30 mins to see if
it works.

If still doesn't work, try once again, the steps initially given. I recall
similar results, incorrect amount logged. I was hoping, you wouldn't have
to complete all the steps again.

Yes, it IS CRAZY and FRUSTRATING and we shouldn't have to go to such
measures. I hope ultimately it'll be successful after "1 more chance".

My app is up to date and restarting the versa did nothing. I still get the
max logs entered error message.

in my case, the widget to log water intake from the Versa is often disappearing.

I was able to log water. It never transfered to my phone. Now I keep get a message that says I need to sync my device with the Fitbit Mobil app to resume log. My maximum logs entered. Ugh well it tracks my steps and everything else. So I have to add my water in thru the app. I restarted my watch and my phone even deleted my device. Let's get this fixed.

Mine was fine with update. Then not. Then force quit and sometimes works. As of 2 days ago it doesn't work. I did charge once - at 13% - at it worked. Today though was above 20% and yesterday 33% and above and not working. Haven't re-charged yet. Haven't read all posts yet, just stopped at this one to give info:
(EDIT TO ADD - charging didn't work this time)

And ditto the online dashboard

  • Your Phone make and model - iPhone 6
  • OS version - 12.1.2
  • Fitbit app version - 32.33.1.30
  • I did do an app update today (Version 2.85 1/13/19)  and re-tried everything

we shouldn't have to re-charge at 20% for things to work, should we?????

sleep also has been cutting off first few hours b/c I get up for the bathroom. That didn't happen before. I'm not up long (I know about the 3 hour to track issue)

Hi, my Fitbit Versa is doing the same, won’t log in the phone..or sync i suppose. And it only displays what i logged on the watch itself and doesn’t show me the whole amount for the day.  I deleted the Fitbit app, updated my phone and turned off the watch and back on... still not working

I have an IPhone 7plus

Apple software - 12.1.2

fitbit firmware - 33.1.30

Today I have reset my Fitbit and uninstalled the Fitbit app due to my water log disappearing from my watch.  It was present this am, and gone this afternoon.  Reset did not assist.  Please help!

The only other thing I can think of is try with your wifi on.

Sometimes, mine doesn't register immediate, but eventually does.

I have an iPhone xr.

I LOVE that Fitbit has added water intake logging directly on the Versa, none of the third-party water tracking apps have seemed to work in the past with my Versa and Fitbit app. My only hurdle is that when I log my water directly on my Versa (in the "today" app by swiping up) and click the check mark, it appears to have saved the entry, but it won't show up if I swipe to the "Average Log" and then quickly disappears when I swipe back and it won't sync to my Fitbit app on my phone for actual tracking purposes.

Is there a setting I am missing or something? I was so excited for this! (now just to get those handy hydration reminders)

@Astraight907 No, you got it pretty much right. Logging water is still a bit... buggy. Versa needs to sync the water logged to Fitbit mobile app and then the total volume of water consumed needs to be synced back to Versa... The issue is this quite often does not happen immediately, and may require several syncs. I had the same problem today, but after a few hours it updated itself. Another thing is you need to tap on the water tile in the fitbit mobile app to go into water logs details for the tile to refresh! If water logging still does not work for you uninstall fitbit app, reboot your phone and versa (press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until fitbit logo flashes), install fitbit mobile app and sync several times. Today app should update on your Versa within a few hours and hopefully water logging will work.

Today my Versa showed that I had 416 ounces when I had not logged any yet. It synced to the app that way as well.

It was just dumping all of you log data into one day. If your experience is
similar to mine your watch should log water intake as intended from this
point forward. Good luck.
