Water logged on device doesn't show in Fitbit app (RESOLVED)

Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

Fitbit Update: 1/24/19

Hey Versa Fam!

Our team is still investigating these reports for water logs not syncing over to the Fitbit app after logging them on your watch. We appreciate your reports and feedback.

If I receive any new information, I will update this thread so please stay subscribed. Thank you!

Amen!  Exactly the point. Don't keep developing new things and selling defective products. I wonder if anybody on here has the versa light, the new one. And if they do , does the water logging and the weight logging work? what do those poor souls who bought the versa light have to wait a year for their water logging to work also.?

I posted somewhere about this before. It seems that they are doing a complete overhaul - not working on this one issue but many. And will fix EVERYthing when perfected in the next software or firmware release. Some moderators liked the post, too - so maybe that's a hint for us. 😉

I have tried to log out, I have restarted,  the watch and the app. Nothing seems to help with the issue for logging water on watch. Maximum logs entered,  sync your device with the Fitbit mobile app  to resume logging is what is says when I want to add via watch..

I have a Versa lite and no it doesn't, nothing entered via the watch syncs back it struggles to connect to gps when doing any activity and music playback is too much of a faf on to get it working so don't bother (all though I believe the playback thing is either an Android or Google problem as it works fine via apple)

@Dsieds and nothing will help...until Fitbit fixes the issue on THEIR end - as stated many times throughout this thread.

This is still not working. Is there a fix?

Omg...

NO, it's STILL not working.

NO, there is nothing you can do to fix this.

NO, Fitbit has STILL not fixed this issue.

NO, Fitbit has STILL not given an update on this issue.

(I gotta wonder why people are still even coming here and asking about this when the entire forum is FILLED with a plethora of posts everywhere that states the above.)

Why do you?

Apparently another Fitbit defect is it doesn’t post the most recent comment on a thread for their main community page. So the most updated comment date that shows is 02/2019. Chill.

@SunsetRunner I don't. I haven't asked about this since the very beginning. Unlike some people, I got my answer and actually read the posts.

@shell__by oh, I'm chill. And I see all the comments, so I'm not sure what "defect" you're referring to. I think some people just don't bother to read.

Have a great day! 🙂

I am able to log my water intake on my watch. I enter the oz and it shows what I entered at what time. The problem is that it doesn't show on the app on my phone AND the amount the watch shows later is more than what I entered. For example, at 2:30 PM I entered 24 oz. At 3:15 PM it showed 40 oz and now at 3:55 PM, it shows 44 oz. I only entered the first 24 oz. Kinda useless if it's not correct.

Do you have the ionic? If so, there's been a long running bug with logging water on the device that might explain some of the problems you are having. Have a look at the main thread on the problem at https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Ionic/Ionic-Water-Tile-Not-Syncing-to-Dashboard/m-p/3122486#M79022

Anyone else still having issues getting the water log to sync with phone app and Versa watch? I log the amount of water on my watch but it does not show up on the phone app. However I can log the water on the phone app and it will update the watch. I am on Samsung Galaxy S9 with Pie OS. I have tried all the suggestions Fitbit provided by restarting both the phone app and Versa watch.

Alas I hate u r having this issue. Many will say Fitbit is working on an update.

others on the other hand will argue and jump up and down like  rumplestilkin. I on the other hand have not experienced such an issue (nor my fiancé or friends whom I’ve helped set up on their smart devices—all Fitbit versas with Fitbit pay). All I can say is Unsync ur watch and phone. Delete the app. And start over from scratch. Aside from that I really don’t have a solution. Last time I tried ppl yelled down my throat. So I wish u luck.

We're all having that problem and fitbit aren't doing anything about it. I have sold my versa and got myself a garmin again

That’s what’s up. Mine been working since the day I got it, aside from one bad sync day (that I fixed). I may make a tutorial. Simulate the error and show how I fixed it. Alas nursing school hogs up most of my tech nerdy time.

@jpzoo yep. We all are. Take a look around and read the thread. Fitbit says they're working on it. Hence, why we're having the issue. Nothing we can do on our end.

Hi, I am wondering if a solution has been found for the water logging problem. Just got a Versa yesterday, applied an update this morning, tried all the suggestions given, and am still having the problems listed—water input on Versa not showing up in app and only last log being shown on Versa, not daily total. Thanks for any help!
