Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

About ready to return my 2 day old versa because of this and other bugs that I'm finding out have been around forever.

Can somebody from fitbit with actual knowledge of bug fixes and feature enhancements in the pipeline comment?

Edit - it refreshed right after I posted this. Will keep an eye on it.

Media control is still unusable unfortunately.

After this last update to the versa. My water logging on the watch is now syncing with the app. This has been working for the last three days now. It’s working in both directions.

Fitbit,

If I enter 1000ml or any number from the today app on the watch, the app
tells me I drank over 19K ml of water!!! Every single time since update.
Come on....does nobody do any form of testing?

Had the same issue with the built in Today app. As DNyberg suggested I installed the Ionic water app, and after I enabled all permissions + logged in to the Fitbit account through the app this has been working well for me! I am so happy I can finally log my water intake directly from the versa!

*Which app is this Ionic Water? The one I have downloaded it doesn't work
for me.*

This is such an ongoing problem, but yet they keep coming up with new devices without fixing the problems with the original ones. The only reason I Stay with fitbit is for the challenges with friends, otherwise "see ya! "

I got the versa2 fitbit on 9 Oct 2019.  I log water both via my mobile and via my watch. The last 2 days, only the water intake logged via my phone shows on my log details. My steps are syncing OK, but water is not.

Hello @MBTK water doesn't sync like the tracker does.

The water gets sent to the phone at the time of inputting.

This means the Fitbit services need to be running in the background. My question, do you get notifications on the wrist and does the connected gps work dieting a walk recording?

I just got a versa 2 and I'm trying to set it up to track water intake.

I tried the water logged app but it won't add water. It says to restart the app. I restarted the watch. i don't know how to restart an app.

I did see how to do it from the Today Screen. But is there a way to add a preset amount of water to the today screen?

Also bonus questions:

  • is there a clock face that tracks water?
  • Is there an app that can be used to track trips to the bathroom?

Hello, and thanks for your reply.

All day yesterday, my water intake that I had put into my watch, went straight to my phone - no problem.

I do get notifications on my watch, e.g. so may more steps this hour. Is that what you mean (spot the non-IT person btw 🙂 )

Notifications are sent through the fitbit app and if you do not get them on the tracker, i would not expect the water logging to work.

@AlessFitbit  I just got a Versa Lite on 10-25-19 and I noticed that if I log water on the watch it won't update in the app when synced and visa versa.  If I add water in the app, it won't update on the watch.  When I went to the forum, I saw this post and it appears this has been a problem for quite a while.  I have tried what you suggested in your post but nothing works.  Is there an update on the update for this issue?

@Dew1500  It's not a deal breaker, but it is disappointing to get a new devise and find out that not every feature works like it's suppose to, even if I'm not going to use it, I still want it to work should I decide to use it.  And then I find out that it's been an issue for quite some time now.  Does not leave me feeling very confident in the product as a whole.

@Fitlark  You could always return it.  It's a defect and we all have the ability to return it if it makes you that unhappy.
