Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

Yes. Then go to app, click through Dashboard to Water, click on Today and
the app will update.

The reverse, logging water in the app, seems to update in the watch just
fine.

Update on this. I can confirm that the rogue entries I am seeing ARE incorrect interpretations of millilitre entries as US fluid ounces.

A new version of the Fitbit app (for iOS) appeared on my updates this morning and on installing it I checked water on the app. I'd entered two 200ml entries on the watch that morning, but the app was showing 0ml - however, checking the log it showed two entries for 5915ml even though the total was 0. On checking, 200 US fl oz is 5914.71ml - rounding up, 5915.

I deleted those entries, restarted the watch, restarted the app, and entered two 200ml entries via the Versa again and after a couple of syncs they appeared on the log and also in the total. I've attached screenshots of the rogue entries as they appeared in the app and also of the new entries.

Extremely annoying, and implies that something in the sync process - or in the server side analysis process - is a little bit flakey.

 Correct entries.Correct entries.

Mine does this too! It is very frustrating. Every once in a while if I get lucky it will sync and tell me my daily total water intake, but more often than not it just tells me how much I logged and when like you said.

Seems like a lot of hassle to get it to work! 🙄

@AlessFitbit, I'm also having issues logging water successfully. I've done everything except for a factory reset (heard this is currently "bricking" many users devices). I'm also getting the "Maximum Logs Entered" message (no matter how many times i manually sync).

Have a new versa fitbit and seem to be having trouble with my water log entries. I enter them on my watch & it shows the checkmark and then "xx oz logged at XXam" which is fine. However when I go back in, that confirmation statement is still there. If I go to enter another water entry, it just updates the confirmation statement. It is not resetting to show me the total water consumption for the day. If I check the app on my phone, it is updated, but only after I go all the way into to access 'today's log'. This has happened a couple times, but has reset on its own. Started again yesterday & then the logged entries from yesterday - were copied to today's log. I have manually edited them, but the watch is still showing my last entry a couple hours ago. Seems like my fitbit has a problem?

Just wanted to report, I'm also experiencing the same issue. Yesterday, I had restarted my watch and it started to log as expected, but today, problem returned. I have tried restarting and shutting down the watch, then I tried removing/reinstalling the app from my phone, restart my phone, shutdown my phone. None of these "cleared the issue. I have to add to log either on my phone or desktop site - they will synch with each other. I'm looking forward to the fix.
