I thought it was where whenever you were at least 30ft it’d sync but it’s not. So what exactly is it? What’s the benefits? Thanks!

@sarah_lin8 I believe it a function for the watch to sync all your health data to the fitbit apps in your phone all the time.

I am pretty sure that it causes the device to automatically sync with your phone every set number of minutes. Not sure how many minutes between syncs.
The alternative is it manually syncing when you open the Fitbit app on your phone.

This is what it says in the Versa User Manual.
"Each time you open the Fitbit app, Versa syncs automatically when it's nearby.
Versa also syncs with the app periodically if All-Day Sync is on."

I don't have the Versa, yet, I have a Charge 2, but I think this feature is a battery drainer for any tracker and your phone.

It enhances background syncing. And it also keeps a persistent connection so you can monitor heart rate and other data real-time on the app ("Live Data" view). I turn it on when using the app to monitor my heart rate during exercise, and leave it off otherwise due to the battery drain.

Hmmm. I open the app on my Samsung S7 Edge so I can monitor my heart rate while on the treadmill so I don't have to constantly look at my wrist, and all the tiles are live ("Live Data" view) without turning on the "All Day Sync".

All day sync does nothing on my charge 2. The only time it syncs is when I launch the app.

My heart rate is always monitored on my watch. I can't find out what "periodic" frequency is.
