What is the life of a Versa?

I've now had two units in less than two years. My original Versa was purchased in December of 2018, and replaced in December 2019 under warranty because the battery was defective. Now my replacement Versa, which hasn't been used since June of this year because a firmware updated made it no longer work with my phone (that's another long story-but all in all, replacement unit was only used from December 2019-June 2020) is now not working. It seems to be paired and synced, but won't do the new firmware update via bluetooth or wifi. The Versa itself just sits with the FitBit logo and scrolling languages like it needs to be set up, but it won't set up via the app because it won't update.

So now I have a second useless Versa that's now out of warranty (since the warranty replacement units don't have their own warranty, they only continue with whatever warranty is left from the unit they're replacing) in less than two years time. Oh, but they're going to send me a discount code!

Anybody have any good recommendations for fitness tracker companies with better longevity?  Why would I want to pay, even a discounted amount, for an item that just apparently isn't going to last and won't be backed up by the company?

I have had the exact same experience. I'm done with Fitbit.
