I was wondering what the official, recommended method is to make sure that the apps running on the Versa stay connected to the phone. Do I need to have all day sync enabled, or is it enough to just keep Bluetooth, Internet and Location turned on on my phone? Or is just Bluetooth enough?
I tried just Bluetooth, but it seems to disconnect after a few hours and only after resyncing the versa can I fix it. So far, having all day sync on with Bluetooth, Internet and Location seems to keep my watch apps connected. But I worry about excessive battery drain on both my phone and watch. Will this drain my battery faster than expected on my phone and watch?

Have all "day sync" enable so that it does sync with your smartphone through out the day. I believe the "always connect" will have an impact on the battery.

Ok so here is my current setup that works extremely well. I have enabled All day sync and always connected. But, to help conserve battery both on my Fitbit and phone, I turn off Bluetooth+Location whenever I don't want or need sync and connection to my phone. I don't know about iOS but on Android you need data, Bluetooth AND location services to be able to sync. I only need connectivity between the versa and my phone for apps to function well with their companions during my morning and evening commute. So during this time I turn on Bluetooth and location. A short while later, after the Fitbit syncs due to the all day sync, I can then reliably connect to the phone and apps that need the companion to work, do so perfectly. I have been using this approach for almost two days and it works well. So this is a workable solution for me!
