How are you charging it?
See this thread for charging best practices. If you are not charging it correctly you could be damaging the battery

I charge it through the wall, and now having my second one I feel like I am getting nowhere with what I want...it’s frustrating and I can only hope this gets resolved soon...

I tried everything from turning off the heart rate, gps, and notifications. Battery life still very low. Now with the syncing issues, I am considering giving up on fitbit and switching to some other platform.

agreed.
battery performance has nose dived after a mere three months. Instead of charging every four days (as advertised no less), it has gone to every two days, and now to every day.
a tracker watch you have to keep plugged into the wall is hardly useful. Maybe include a port for an external battery next time? =p
or hire fewer people to cut and paste canned responses (or spend less time programming bots to do that) and less money on ruinous lawsuits and more time on OS development and updates and QA
