What notifications can you get on Versa 2 - how does it compare

I thinking of upgrading from my Fitbit HR2 to a Versa 2 (or alternatively a Samsung smartwatch).  I would rather stay with Fitibit as I like the app and community.  Really interested in understanding what notifications you can get from my android (Samsung) phone to the watch - on the HR2 it was limited to text, calls and calendar.  I would want notifications coming through from all the ones I get on the HR2 but also BBC news/sport etc, twitter, whatsapp, facebook, indeed all the notifications that I currently get on the my phone.  Is this something the Versa can do?  Also, whilst on the subject of this, can you reply to texts/whatsapp via the watch (even with pre-prepared or prescribed) messages?  Any help appreciated, as I really do want to stay with the Fitibit product, but am unsure how much it can do compared to other smart watches.  I am based in the UK (just in case there is any variation between US and UK versions of the Versa).

  • The notification choices for the Versa 2 are calls, text messages, including WhatsApp and calendar events.  You will not get all the notifications you get on your phone. 
  • You will be able to reply to messages with preset replies since you have an Android phone. This feature is not available on iPhones. Apple will not allow it.

Like you, I really like the Fitbit community. You may want to go thru the Versa 2 manual to get more information on the device.

Thanks for the guidance.  I am being a little stupid though and just wanted to check - can you read email messages, and will I get notifications to my watch from the main social media apps (i.e. twitter and facebook)? As I say I am trying to decide between the Versa and the Samsung smart watch which does appear to have better app functionality (and is more expensive!) - so long as the Versa can do the main things I am looking for, I want to stay with Fitbit.

@Davemthurk - No, you will not be able to read email on the Versa 2. Nor will you be able to get Facebook or Twitter notifications. Sorry.
